Dancing with the Stars: 3/9/09

The premiere of the new season of Dancing with the Stars was pretty entertaining…There are some interesting celebrities and a lot of new (Chelsie!) professionals this time around…And some last minute replacements.  Sorry the pictures are all over the place…Can’t figure out the formatting…

LIL KIM/DEREK:  Eh…Didn’t even remember her by the time the recap showed.

BELINDA/JONATHAN:  Umm…She WAS NOT as bad as Cloris Leachman!

LAWRENCE/EDYTA:  I love Edyta!  Lawrence doesn’t have the same appeal as previous football guys. He needs more personality.  He’s gonna have his work cut out for him.

STEVE-O/LACEY:  I liked Steve-O! I give him credit…He seems like he really wants to do well! Give him a chance!  Good job pairing him w/Lacey…They match!

GILLES/CHERYL:  Yes, he was definitely one of the better ones…Cheryl’s got a chance this season.  Umm, and not to sound too mean, but she definitely is looking better in her outfits this season.

CHUCK/JULIANNE: I’m still a little miffed that Chuck gets to be partnered with his real-life girlfriend, but whatever…On the other hand, it may actually be tougher for him to be with his gf.  They look good together, and I still love Julianne, so…

HOLLY/DMITRY:  I give Holly credit for only having a week to practice.  She did not bad…At least she seems pretty enthusiastic about the dancing…Like she definitely could improve.  My being a bit of a Girls Next Door fan probably makes me a bit partial to her.  We’ll have to wait and see.

TY/CHELSIE:  All of you who know me know…I CALLED IT!  Chelsie Hightower on DWTS!  Awesome!  Poor thing, tho…She’s definitely got her work cut out for her!  Ty is so awkward and uncomfortable…But I actually thought it was endearing.  Watching Chelsie dance tho…Man, she’s good!  If anything, she helps make them look good/makes you not notice how awkward he is…Hope they get another chance to stick around and improve.

SHAWN/MARK:  I wasn’t as impressed with Shawn as the judges were.  She was pretty good…It’s hard to watch her…She didn’t seem as fluid/pretty as other dancers, but…We all know she’s competitive, so she may actually have a real shot at this thing.

STEVE/KARINA:  I have to say…Even tho he really wasn’t good, I ENJOYED Steve’s performance the most.  He has such a good attitude & outlook on this experience…How can you not like him for that?  He really is one of those dorky/nerdy guys that you just want to root for!

DAVID/KYM:  David was surprisingly better than I thought he’d be.  I’ve always like Kym, and have been waiting for it to be her season to win the title.  Don’t think this will be the season, but I think David is going to end up being better than most people expect.

DENISE/MAKS:  Sorry, but I just don’t care for Denise.  At least with Brooke last year, even tho I didn’t like her much, she was actually good technically.  Denise didn’t look very comfortable, and her whole crying bit in their intro piece…Come on!  Altho, she is with Maks, so I kinda can understand where it would be hard not to cry sometimes, the way he’s impatient, etc.

MELISSA/TONY:  Only 2 days of practice?!  Geez!  Talk about a crash course in dancing…I guess that’s why Melissa was able to pull it off…Having had some dance/ballet experience really helped her.  We all know that I like her already, so I’m glad she’s on the show.  She did a good job!  P.S. Can’t believe they showed her whole rejection clip again as an intro…

It’s good they don’t kick anyone out this first week…It gives those that didn’t do so well a chance to redeem themselves…Unfortunately it’s hard to come back from 13, 14, 15 scores when others are scoriing 24…You never know tho.

Carrie to sing AI farewell song!

For this season’s farewell song on American Idol when the contestants get voted off, they’ll be playing Carrie’s recorded version of Motley Crue’s song “Home Sweet Home”.  Supposedly it’ll debut on Idol during this week’s results show (3/11).  Awesome!

The Celebrity Apprentice: 3/8/09

The right decision was made last night to boot Scott Hamilton…He wasn’t a good project manager.  Tom Green definitely was a bit tough to manage, but at least he was trying to give input and make it better.  Scott didn’t even consider what Tom was saying.  Maybe if he tried to listen to Tom a bit, he wouldn’t have been as annoying.  Plus, that whole “EEE” thing was pretty silly…Umm…What was the name of the company again?  Zappo’s?  Z!

The Bachelor’s Jason: Andrew Firestone’s Reaction

Andrew Firestone (The Bachelor, Season 3) made a statement regarding Jason’s actions:

You all know how I feel about the whole thing, so…Please discuss!

The Amazing Race: 3/8/09

That log task was a killer!  I felt so bad when their whole stack just toppled over!  After you finish more than half of it, and to have to start over…

I don’t think U-turning Amanda & Kris was really necessary for Margie & Luke to do…I know it’s a game and all, but…All you need to do right now (since there’s so many teams left) is to NOT come in last…U-turning people just creates unnecessary drama/enemies.  Unforturnately for Amanda & Kris, the U-turn caused them to get booted.  Personally, I liked them.  They worked well as a team and didn’t irritate.  Oh well.
