*OK, I’ve been listening to Adam’s recorded version of “Tracks of My Tears,” and even tho it’s different from his live version, I’m really starting to like it. He’s still basically singing it like he did on the show…There’s just more music added and it’s a bit faster. It’s still really good! And actually, the recorded version actually builds towards more of a climax in the song…It’s pretty cool. Just wanted to write it so that you don’t think I hated the recorded version…I’m actually quite “digging” it now.

Listening to all the recordings of the Top 10 Motown songs, it’s a bit disappointing. All the recordings have the idols’ voices over the original classic instrumental versions. I know why they did it…They wanted to pay tribute to the original artists/recordings of these classic songs, but…Many of the studio versions sound very different from what we saw on the performance night…Particularly Adam’s!
I really wished they would’ve allowed him to record the version he sang on Wednesday night, but…They didn’t. It sounds similar, but there’s SO much music backing him up, with all the falsetto he’s kind of getting drowned out in parts. I still really enjoy listening to it, but it’s just not the same…That live performance version was just so perfect. I’m disappointed.
