Top 10 Studio Recordings *Updated

*OK, I’ve been listening to Adam’s recorded version of “Tracks of My Tears,” and even tho it’s different from his live version, I’m really starting to like it.  He’s still basically singing it like he did on the show…There’s just more music added and it’s a bit faster.  It’s still really good!  And actually, the recorded version actually builds towards more of a climax in the song…It’s pretty cool.  Just wanted to write it so that you don’t think I hated the recorded version…I’m actually quite “digging” it now. :-)   Buy it here.

Listening to all the recordings of the Top 10 Motown songs, it’s a bit disappointing.  All the recordings have the idols’ voices over the original classic instrumental versions.  I know why they did it…They wanted to pay tribute to the original artists/recordings of these classic songs, but…Many of the studio versions sound very different from what we saw on the performance night…Particularly Adam’s! :-( I really wished they would’ve allowed him to record the version he sang on Wednesday night, but…They didn’t.  It sounds similar, but there’s SO much music backing him up, with all the falsetto he’s kind of getting drowned out in parts.  I still really enjoy listening to it, but it’s just not the same…That live performance version was just so perfect.  I’m disappointed.

Smallville: 3/26/09

  • Poor Chloe…Lois is living the life she always wanted…:-(  What would your wish be?

  • “Zatanna” looked familiar…She’s got those eyes…Kinda creepy/witch-like or something.  Nice that she ended up being good and doing the right thing.  If she didn’t…Goodbye Chloe.

  • Erica Durance did a pretty good job playing “Chloe”…I could hear the “chloeisms” coming out.  No one can beat the real Chloe tho.

  • It’s always fun to see Clark being kind of “silly”.  When he “couldn’t remember” he had powers/abilities…Something so simple but funny!

  • It’s always nice to see Oliver…He is a close 2nd to Clark for me…Cute!

  • Can’t put one of Oliver without putting one of Clark…:-)

  • What would Clark do without Chloe?  I just love their friendship…

  • Chloe being the “watchtower” for the Justice League.  Awesome!  She NOW has a purpose!

Private Practice: 3/26/09

Wow, this episode was full of recognizable faces!  I love when that happens!  It’s amazing how the revolving door of guest starring roles/shows for actors is constantly turning on television…

  • “Wayne Palmer” from 24!  He looks a little different from when he was on 24…He’s all clean-shaven!  He looks good! (Altho still not as good as Taye! :-) )

  • Robert’s son from Brothers & Sisters!  He finally gets to have some real lines in a scene!

  • Idina Menzel!  She’s my favorite from the original cast of Wicked!  She’s also Patrick Dempsey’s fiance from Enchanted.  Not only that, she’s Taye Diggs’ (Sam) real-life wife!  Cool!

On to the actual stories now:

  • A 12-yr old girl pregnant?!  Gosh…
  • Violet’s jealous!  I wonder if they’ll keep Idina on for a bit as a new love interest (and threat to Violet) for Pete…Hope so.  That’s add a bit of a twist in their storyline.
  • Violet and Charlotte are like best friends now…Or not?  Charlotte having the whipped cream…That was pretty funny. :-)
  • Poor Sam…Being attacked about his ethical character as a doctor in court…:-(  He IS a good doctor!
  • Dr. Parker?!  Umm…Hello?!  He sure is having a hard time dealing with “losing” his daughter…He’s being more irresponsible. It’s a sad situation but…Grow up Dell!
  • Naomi and Sam’s friend Duncan…Kinda cute.  Hope Naomi can find someone after getting burned by Archer…
  • Addison is really playing with fire…How can she seriously think she can be a doctor to a woman who’s husband she’s “in lust” for…?!
