this was the weakest episode of the season for me. i guess i would have enjoyed it more if i had seen/knew anything at all about “Mama Mia”. either way, i don’t think they did a good enough job to set up the whole “who’s Jack’s father” plot line in terms of getting us to want to care about his daddy issues. even though they’ve alluded to this a few times previously, it just seemed to come out of nowhere and i think people are going to be disappointed that the focus of the plot has drifted so far away from the tension between Jack and Liz that started up last season. I’m not sure what it was about the Jack/Liz tension that i liked, but i was excited for it.
that’s a good point. the whole “who’s jack’s daddy?” thing did kinda come out of nowhere. i’m sort of a newer watcher of 30 rock. only really started watching regularly this season (i think?). got more into it ’cause of reid and also just because of tina fey. some episodes are definitely more enjoyable than others for me…
