ARMY WIVES 4/11/10: 4.01 “Collateral Damage”

Army Wives is back!  Honestly, it felt a bit early to be returning for another season…I like when the show was totally during the summer!  That’s when you can focus on it more…right now there’s SO many other shows going on/wrapping up, it’s harder to really get as excited about it.

BUT, I’m not complaining…I still really like this show, and this premiere episode picked up right where we left off in Season 3…

• Oh no!  Joan may lose her vision!  How sad is that?!  I mean, I’m glad she didn’t die, but…losing her ability to ever be able to see her baby girl again?  Not sure if she’ll feel that’s a fair trade really…

• Argh…Lenore is ANNOYING THE HECK out of me, and it’s only the FIRST episode!
• Of COURSE it would be where CJ and Lenore have to “battle” for that award…Lenore has ALWAYS had that “no mercy” attitude, especially when it comes to Claudia Joy.  CJ better watch out…don’t let her guard down!

• I’m so glad Jeremy didn’t kill himself!  After what happened to Amanda, the last thing we needed was yet ANOTHER child being killed…
• Tough road ahead for Denise and Frank…so glad they were able to patch up THEIR problems before all this happened…they’re really going to need each other to get thru this…
• Glad that Roland took on Jeremy’s case…I’m SURE that makes Denise feel a lot better about the whole situation, having a friend help her son work thru his issues.
• It was so sad when Jeremy FINALLY admitted what was at the root of all of this…that he feels GLAD that it was his friend who got killed instead of himself.  *TEAR* No wonder he’s so messed up…that’s a WHOLE lot of guilt to be feeling/carrying inside like that.  Altho it seems like he’s a bad person, no one can fault him for wanting/being grateful to live.  Wonder how he’s going to get thru this tho…

• Oh boy…Pamela & Chase…not looking good for their relationship.
• Chase sure didn’t know how to handle his family being gone and not knowing where they are…
• When Chase was talking to Trevor about his situation, and Trevor mentioned that he didn’t want to miss these “vital years” with the kids…Chase actually didn’t seem very AFFECTED by that…like he was OK with missing these years with his kids.  Tough one.  You can tell Chase just LOVES his job and what he’s doing…
• Pamela giving Chase an ultimatum like that…Delta Force or his family.  Gosh, I don’t know if he can make the decision she wants him to…

DANCING WITH THE STARS: Top 9 Performances 4/12/10

This is going to be a quick review…nothing really outstanding this week, imo:

NICOLE & DEREK: Altho her scores really didn’t reflect a “bad” performance, the actual critiques by the judges were probably her most “negative” she’s gotten in this competition so far.  But she really doesn’t have to worry too much.  She was still right up there towards the top in scores.  Poor thing tho…when Brooke was interviewing them after they performed, Nicole seemed SO down on herself.  You can tell she really was disappointed in how she performed…she puts so much pressure on herself!  She shouldn’t tho…she’s great!

KATE & TONY: Wow, that was DEFINITELY Kate’s best performance to date.  She ACTUALLY looked more like she was dancing!  She did seem a bit more comfortable and lighter on her feet.  Maybe she’s FINALLY starting to let go a little.  The thing I liked was that I ACTUALLY saw PROGRESS.  I mean…compared to the past few weeks, that was great!  OBVIOUSLY, compared to everyone else, it’s still horrible, but…REALLY you’re only trying to compete with yourself (especially in Kate’s case), and at least FOR HER, she’s getting better!  Gotta give her props for that!  Plus she actually did seem a bit HAPPIER this time!  Good for her!

Okay, sadly those two were the only performance I felt a need to write about.  No one else really stood out to me in any way.  Not sure if I like the whole “double score” process they did this week.  After all, this ISN’T figure skating!  If anything, they should WAIT until later in the season when there are less contestants and the contestants have had more time with the dances, etc.  It’s pretty early to be nitpicking on technicality AND performance/artistic ability separately like that…

BROTHERS & SISTERS 4/11/10: 4.18 “Time After Time”

Wow, what an episode to return from a break from…heavy stuff, more insight into their family (especially Nora & Kevin)…so nice to have the show back!  I always forget how much I love this show until I watch it.

• First of all, the flashbacks of the kids from their childhood/teenage years was really interesting.  I have to APPLAUD the casting director for hiring such AWESOME actors to play these roles…
• The guy who played TOMMY was…AMAZING.  I mean, he WAS TOMMY.  Look…Sound…Everything.  Crazy good.  Kinda creepy how good he was actually.
• The girl who played Sarah…same thing…looked and sounded just like SARAH.  Awesome.

• Poor Kevin.  To find out 25 YEARS later that the kid he got into a fight with (over being gay, no less) ended up being PARALYZED for life.  And not knowing about it…I can see why Kevin was having a hard time dealing with it.  I think the main reason he felt so bad about was WHY he got into the fight with Aaron.  It was over his sexuality…totally could’ve been avoided if Kevin just felt comfortable enuf in his own skin at that time to accept that he was gay.  Sad.

• Can’t believe Nora (and William) had been keeping this under wraps ALL THIS TIME.  That’s a lot to keep in/keep from the family.  Amazing no one found out, and probably wouldn’t have found it if it wasn’t for greedy Dennis York.
• Did Nora SERIOUSLY think that her kids would just SELL OFF the family business WITHOUT QUESTION?!  After ALL this time of saving the company, cleaning up William’s mess…if I was one of them I TOTALLY would want to know WHY.  That was a bit much for Nora to just ask…she should’ve expected all the resistance.

• I just LOVE all the Holly/Nora scenes.  They make such an entertaining team!
• When they had to STEAL Dennis’ car at the hotel…that was hilarious!  Then they walked in on Justin & Rebecca!  Even more funny!

• Now we at least know the secret Dennis knew about that got Nora all riled…but I’m still confused about the whole “Narrow Lake” thing.  WHAT exactly IS Narrow Lake?  WHY is it so important?
• At least Kevin figured out that Narrow Lake is an anagram for NORA WALKER.  That was pretty amazing he was able to figure that out!
• I hope the Narrow Lake mystery gets cleared up soon…

TV GUIDE VIDEO: Glee Rocks Madonna

Glee will be featured on the April 15 issue of TV Guide, with a Madonna-themed photoshoot.  They sure are hyping up that particular episode…as they’ve said, it’s gonna be EPIC!  I for one am SUPER EXCITED for it (of course)!  Here’s a behind the scenes video of the photoshoot…I love how they dressed up each of the girls in a certain Madonna song “look”:
