Here’s the preview for next weeks’ episode, The Power of Madonna:
In case you missed the preview of Sue Sylvester’s “Vogue” video from next week’s “The Power of Madonna” episode, here it is!
I have to say, it was AWESOME! Almost EXACTLY like the actual Madonna music video! The outfits and everything! Crazy good! Kurt and Mercedes looked great too, especially Kurt! You get to see/hear Sue/Jane Lynch SING AND DANCE! Can’t say enough about it!
I also LOVED how they changed certain lyrics – “Sue Sylvester, dance on air” and “Will Schuester, I hate you.” L-O-V-E.
If this is any indication of next week’s episode…it WILL be EPIC!
CAN. NOT. WAIT.
After ALL this time…GLEE has returned! Woohoo!
And we pick up RIGHT where we left off…
Can’t tell you how GREAT it is to have Glee back. I missed it so much! CAN’T WAIT to see the rest of the season…! Adding this to American Idol, Tuesdays have become THAT much better…
Here we are with the TOP9 AGAIN…Still think it was a WASTE of a save last week. OK, but let’s not DWELL on that…:)…on to the show!
CRYSTAL Saved: At least this week we had quite an upbeat song from Crystal. Lots of energy in that song. As usual, her vocals sounded great. Liked how her electric guitar was “bedazzled.” Other than that, there’s not much else I can say, so I will go with a “Melinda Doolittle” commentary…She was the SAME again this week…the USUAL.
ANDREW Hound Dog: OK, I was BORED. Seriously. In his mentoring session with Adam, Adam wanted him to “give more” ’cause it was so sluggish at first, then he TRIED to give it some pep, but…OMG. Did he REALLY speed it up?! I felt NO ENERGY. SLUGGISH and LAZY…TOTALLY. Almost kinda whiny. Man. Not good.
TIM Can’t Help Falling In Love: OMG Tim! What is HAPPENING every week?! I think you’re SERIOUSLY starting to EARN your stay on this show. THAT, I gotta say…was QUITE SWOONWORTHY. I loved the guitar playing he did…it was so exposed and vulnerable, and it felt very VERY genuine. I wished he took Adam’s advice and stayed at that upper register at the end tho. That was probably because of his “insecurities,” but…GOOD JOB “TUrban”!
LEE A Little Less Conversation: As SOON as Lee starting singing…Man, that GROWL in his voice is just AWESOME! Love it! I love this song to begin with, and Lee’s arrangement definitely changed it, but in a good way. It was great! So cute how Adam told Lee he needs to smile more to show he’s having a good time…I totally could see him trying to do that while he was performing. Not that it means anything, but I thought it was interesting how Lee was standing/his mike was right IN FRONT of the step. On the lower part of the stage. No one’s ever done that. Oh, and that GRIN and THUMBS UP that Lee gave while his number was being given was pretty CUTE!
AARON Blue Suede Shoes: First of all, when Aaron met with Adam, first thing I thought was…OMG, Aaron could be Adam’s son or little brother. He looked SO TINY compared to Adam. Pretty hilarious. I didn’t think the song fit him. He couldn’t really pull it off. It’s almost like you have to be a more SEASONED performer to pull this one off, and Aaron just seemed a bit awkward.
SIOBHAN Suspicious Minds: OK, I’m starting to really get frustrated with the judges (particularly Simon & Kara) regarding Siobhan. I thought that was a very good performance. Her vocals were quite good…she did a whole BUNCH of stuff technically there. Loved how it started faster, got slow in the middle, then got showy at the end. I loved Siobhan’s answer to the judges comments about her being unique and not fitting in ONE place. I mean…to take the word from Glee…HELL-O…the reason she’s there is BECAUSE she’s unique and different. That’s what America loves about her…she’s comfortable in herself and does what she loves. She’s SO genuine and takes the criticism well. PLUS, her vocals were on, imo. LOVED that growl in the middle she did. Oh, and that outfit…wow, she’s super skinny! Nice body! Kinda sexy actually…and that lightning pattern matched the Elvis theme…
MICHAEL In The Ghetto: After the (pointless) save last week, I’m sure A LOT of eyes were on Mike’s tonight. Now this song…if you can believe…I LOVED Taylor Hicks’ version back in Season 5, so it’s hard for me to really love another version of it. As usual, Mike put his own soulful spin to it. Eh. His vocals were typical. I have a hard time listening to him when he holds out his notes…very pompous somehow. Sorry. Not much else to say. OH, and BTW…Mike should THANK Siobhan for suggesting this song to him. He probably wouldn’t have even given this song a second look if Siobhan didn’t tell him about it.
KATIE Baby What Do You Want Me To Do: Katie had some sass to her performance, but to be honest, I just didn’t really feel it. Probably didn’t help that I didn’t know that song to begin with. Don’t have too much else to say…
CASEY Lawdy, Miss Clawdy: Not impressed with Casey this week. Another obscure song doesn’t help. But it really felt like just a TYPICAL Casey performance. Wasn’t really worthy of that pimp spot. His vocals were pretty consistent tho. Eh. Nothing special at all. If I were to hear THAT every week, I wouldn’t buy his album. Not quite my cup of tea, but yet his fans probably liked it.
I thought Adam did a great job as a mentor. Like he told the contestants, he’s new to the whole “music scene,” BUT he TOTALLY knows what it’s like to be in their shoes right now. I thought he was very honest and totally up front with the idols. When he told…Andrew, I think it was, that he was boring…that was great. You WANNA know what’s good/bad about it…so you can improve it. No sugarcoating there. Adam gave good advice/tips to them as well. He was very respectful of them, and seemed to pick up on their strengths/weaknesses pretty easily. Great job Adam!
Just wanted to let you know that after the spring premiere episode of Glee tonight, they will be giving us a sneak peek of next week’s episode, “The Power of Madonna,” with the HIGHLY ANTICIPATED Sue Sylvester performance of Madonna’s “Vogue”…!
Can’t wait for that!
E! was at FOX’s spring premiere for Glee. Short interviews with many of the cast, mainly questions about their characters’ love lives…
My favorite part:
Jonathan to Lea (about Rachel’s love interests): “Who would you pick?“
Lea: “Can’t I have all 3? I really like the diversity…”
Kristin: “You can go to Utah and do that. I think it’s legal there.” LOL!
