AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 7/13/10: Fighting Gravity

Right now, I would say Fighting Gravity FTW! This is only the 2nd time we’ve seen them perform (they got sent straight to Hollywood because they were so good), and they outdid their audition. Loved the whole “swimming” section…and the little snorkel the one guy was wearing…very cute!

I just love how UNIQUE their act is…it’s totally engaging and the music they use is awesome. You KNOW it must take QUITE a bit of time to PERFECT the timing in all that they do!  Very cool.

LOVE THEM!

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 7/13/10: Sally Cohn

I know what you guys are going to say…Seriously?! Sally?! But come on…she HAND WHISTLED MARIAH CAREY’S “HERO”! That is SUCH a difficult song to SING, let alone WHISTLE! Gotta give her credit for that one.  Love Piers’ little jab at Nick about how Sally’s version was the BEST and MOST IN-TUNE version he’s ever heard (*cough* Mariah *cough*).

I will say that if she didn’t have her little “chat” time with the judges every time, her “act” wouldn’t be NEARLY as enjoyable for me. I do feel that the hand whistling IS a talent, but it’s really her personality and comments that really do it for me. She’s hilarious…and so cute! I mean…she’s 75 YEARS OLD! Go Sally!

On a serious note, I KNOW she SHOULDN’T win…but FOR NOW, I’m fine with her still being there. I enjoy watching her and wait to hear what she’ll say next.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 7/13/10: Future Funk

These little boys will move on to the next round solely on their cute factor. They are QUITE adorable. And I do have to admit that they are at least TALENTED as well. I still don’t think they are “winning” material, but they are enjoyable to watch.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 7/13/10: Airpocalypse

I really ragged on the air guitar band for not being a LEGIT band…I mean, seriously…they AREN’T PLAYING INSTRUMENTS! Hell-o! i felt bad for the ACTUAL MUSICIANS on the show.

But for THIS round, I do have to say they were QUITE entertaining. So “theatrical” that it’s funny.  Having said that, I still think they would be a great OPENING ACT for a REAL band…they aren’t HEADLINE material imo.

CASTING NEWS: CSI NY – Melina OUT, Sela IN

I don’t even WATCH CSI:  NY, but I’m posting about this for other reasons…

It was announced yesterday that series regular Melina Kanakaredes will not be returning when the new season starts up this fall.

BUT, all is not lost.  It was just announced today that SELA WARD will be the show’s newest addition!  Basically, I guess she’ll be “replacing” Melina on the show, but playing a different character.

I LOVE SELA WARD!  Loved her back when she was on Sisters, then loved her on Once & Again.  I was thinking we hadn’t seen her on TV in quite a while (I know she was on House for a bit, but sorry, don’t watch that show )…so happy she’s back!

Now that Sela’s coming on, I just MIGHT have to start tuning in to this show…we shall see.

GLEE: Season 2 *Spoilers*

Glee’s creators took part in a panel discussion, where they revealed a BUNCH of tidbits about the upcoming 2nd season:

• MUSIC in S2:  “we’re going back to five numbers and more character moments”
• “This year you’ll see sectionals, regionals and nationals which is really the true pattern. Just because we’re going to do nationals doesn’t mean that they have to be there, that they have to go.”

• RACHEL & FINN STAY TOGETHER:  “Rachel and Finn kind of broke up twice. Let’s keep them together, these two very different people, and let’s really see how an entire season, if there’s no breakup scenes, what does that couple look like at the end of that season. So we’re interested in that. I think that the characters are set now that you can sort of do that with the relationships.”
• FINCHEL:  “I always think the key to it is once they sleep together, the air is out of the balloon. I think the metaphor to relationships is very similar. I think we are a family show and I don’t want the lead actress of the show to jump into bed with the quarterback. Hopefully that will take years to accomplish and I think it will.”

• SECRETS:  “Rachel did not sleep with Jesse. I think she lied an said that she did but she didn’t go through with it. [Finn] did and what was interesting was to have a guy say, ‘I wish that I had waited’ as opposed to ‘Yeah!’ I thought that was a vulnerable choice and I think that discussion certainly will come up. She does not know that but that’s a whole episode right there. When she finds out, what will she do? He hasn’t lied but he hasn’t told her the truth. But that’s dudes, isn’t it?”

• TERRI’S BACK! “I think what she needs to do is she needs to date somebody who will make Will be green with jealousy. We’re trying to figure out who is that person? It’s not the principal for one. We have a very narrow list of candidates.  This is a woman that was so in love with her husband and had a sense that she was losing him and said, ‘I’ll do anything to keep this man, anything’ including something totally insane. I think in the second season, she’ll be doing the same thing. She loves Will. She wants Will. He’s the love of her life. Crazy as she is, he’s the love of her life so she will do anything to get him.”
• JAVIER BARDEM:  “That’s true. He had downloaded every episode. He said he watched them in a crack binge. He knew everything about everybody and he said, ‘I want to come on. Will you write me something?’ So how do you say no to Javier Bardem? You can’t ignore him so that one is true.”

• GUEST STARS RETURNING:  “Jonathan [Groff]’s doing a play in London until January but I would love for him, all of them. Kristin [Chenoweth]’s definitely coming back. We’re getting ready to write that. There’s always opportunities. I would love for Neil [Patrick Harris] to come back. He’s on a competing network. Those are all amazing people. We wrote those parts for those people.”

The 2nd season of Glee doesn’t premiere until TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21…so we still have a ways to wait!

ARMY WIVES 7/12/10: 4.12 “Change of Station”

• Hey!  Isn’t that the guy from Save The Last Dance?!  I think it is!
• At first, when Joan was interacting with this guy I’m thinking…Uh oh…who IS this guy?!  What’s going on here?!  But then I began thinking…maybe it’s a good thing for Joan.  She needs someone who can understand to give her that other perspective…’cause she OBVIOUSLY doesn’t listen to Roland.
• Kinda scary when she got lost while out running in the neighborhood.  Sad tho that she called the Sergeant guy instead of Roland…

• Felt really bad for Emmalin that her knee wasn’t quite progressing as fast as she (or the doctor) hoped.
• So cute how Michael worked out/trained with her to help her…until it started getting a bit “hardcore.”  I can see why Michael was trying to push Em, but…like CJ said, “She’s not one of your soldiers.”

• LOVED that little chest/chair that Frank made!  So cute with the hearts and everything!
• Gotta love those names Denise & Frank were throwing out for the baby – Hank…Walter…Marilyn…Chloe…
• When Frank bought that video camera…he just gets sweeter and cuter everyday!  Aww!

• TJ really is a good boy.  He really tried to step up and “be the man” with cutting down that branch outside his bedroom window…for Finn.
• So cute when he made the $5 and tried to “contribute” to the family.
• I kinda agreed with Roxy on this one…I’m SURE Army kids kinda HAVE to grow up a bit faster than “normal” kids…but like she said…he’s STILL A KID.  Taking the knife himself to try to cut that branch was too much.

• That neighbor girl, Christy…was super young and cute.  Don’t blame Pam for getting a little worked up about her.  ESPECIALLY because Christy seems to spend A LOT of time with the kids.
• It’s interesting now that Pam & Chase aren’t together as a couple.  You get to see different dynamics between them.  Chase actually is a lot more attractive now (at least IMO).

• Saved the killer for last.  They’re ALL deploying?!  WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?!
• I had JUST mentioned out loud right before that WHAT IF Frank isn’t there when the baby is born…and now he’s gonna be gone for a YEAR?!  WATERWORKS time!  Kinda tearing up just writing this part!
• Wow…even Michael has to deploy?!  He has NEVER deployed since the show started…You would think the BIG BOSS doesn’t have to go.  Someone needs to “man the fort” back home.  Wow.

I think next’s week episode is going to be the ULTIMATE cryfest.  How are we going to say goodbye to ALL these guys?!  What’s that going to do for the storyline now?
