AMERICAN IDOL 2/23/11: Las Vegas + Green Mile Part I

Wow, I didn’t realize they were breaking it down to the Top 24 already!  I’m glad tho…let’s get to the voting!

Just some highlights of the Las Vegas/Beatles round:

PIA TOSCANO & KAREN RODRIGUEZ:

• I’m mainly posting this one because of Pia.  I was quite impressed with her voice…it’s a lot stronger than I thought.  Not to mention she’s so pretty and seems like a nice girl.

TIM HALPERIN & JULIE ZORILLA:

• This little “piano duel” was great!  Both Tim & Julie give off this “artistic” vibe so well…it was a great match-up!

THIA MEGIA:

• There have been comparisons of Thia to Charice.  Umm…imo, Thia is good, but…she’s NOT Charice.  But considering Thia’s only 15…she’s very good.  And her voice has this uniqueness to it which is great.

LAUREN ALAINA & SCOTTY MCREERY:

• The judges weren’t really feeling their performance, but I thought it was cute!  It was also great to hear Scotty singing in a different, HIGHER key.  He actually can belt more than I thought he could.  I wish Lauren had a bigger part, but it was cute how she put in the comedic and animated stuff.  I still really like her.

ROBBIE ROSEN:

• Altho Robbie is still not the most “typical” American Idol…and his looks aren’t the most appealing (sorry, I know it’s mean…but it’s true), he REALLY does have a GREAT VOICE.  He’s pretty talented.  Good job!

And now…THE GREEN MILE Part I.  To be honest, the only video I really need to post is the SHOCKER of not just the EPISODE…but the entire SEASON SO FAR:

Chris Medina is OUT.  Wow.  I was TOTALLY SHOCKED.  I personally wasn’t TOTALLY SOLD on him (something about him just didn’t sit well), but I figured America would be…and at LEAST the judges would have been.  But SURPRISE, SURPRISE.  Man.

And I gotta say…the video of him singing his last solo before getting the boot…Coldplay’s “Fix You”…was QUITE good.

Jennifer’s breakdown after she told him he was out…did NOT expect her to react THAT emotionally.  It was actually kind of touching to see her get to upset about the fact that she had to tell him no, and the fact that she really thought she didn’t say it nicely enough (she totally did).  Jennifer did a great job “letting down” all the booted contestants…she’s very honest but not mean.  And you can tell she really cares.  Considering how upset she was after Chris’ boot, how can she compose herself enough to do the rest of the Top 24?!

GLEE 2/22/11: 2.14 “Blame It On The Alcohol”

Well, this episode was definitely and interesting one…

“Wassup my hot little Jewish American Princess…”  Altho the scene wasn’t much, I’ll take any type of Puckleberry moments I can get!

“My Headband” that Rachel sang for Finn was HILARIOUS!  At first I was like…Umm, WHAT is she singing about?!  LOL!  BUT…gotta say, Lea’s voice sounded AMAZING (as usual)!  And kinda sounded like she was singing live there…am I right?

I love when they do the whole split screen/phone chain stuff!

“The Rachel Berry House Party Train Wreck Extravaganza is officially a go”

First of all, WTH was Rachel WEARING at her party?!  ROFL!  She was HILARIOUS with the hosting duties, I must say!  Gotta love her!

PAARTAY!

Gotta say…the kiss between Rachel & Blaine (even tho they were drunk) was QUITE steamy, I must say.  Wouldn’t have expected it.

“Your face tastes AWESOME.”

Umm…TOTALLY wanna hear/see more Blaine & Rachel duets!  Altho this one was pretty crazy and wild, it was a great song for them to do together…and vocally Blaine definitely is the best “guy match up” for Rachel.  No doubt.  I hope they get to do more together!

Altho I’m not a fan of the song, watching them perform Blame It On The Alcohol was pretty entertaining!  Thank goodness for the dark lighting…looks like Finn was doing quite a few dance moves there.

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE all the little “Rachel touches” they put into scenes like this one.  Just her PJs and bedazzled phone is enough…but all the pink…and the record player!  Awesome!

Considering Rachel knows Blaine’s supposed to be gay, pretty gutsy of her to ask him out like that.  Buy hey…WHY NOT?  Considering the kiss they had at the party, one would definitely question whether or not Blaine really IS “playing for the right team…”

Nice that Beiste finally got to sing something (even if she was drunk).  And she got to sing with Will…even better.  I really do love their friendship.  So glad they have each other like that.  It’s sweet.

I was so glad that Rachel & Kurt could talk about Blaine the way they did.  I was worried once Kurt knew that Rachel was sorta interested, things would get weird.  Altho if Rachel & Blaine really DID get together…that may be a different story.

CHEERS!

Tik Tok was SOME New Directions performance.  It featured Brittany, which was very appropriate since she referenced doing a Ke$sha song in the Britney/Brittany episode.

Umm…WHY in the WORLD was Finn up in the front?!  First of all, he’s too tall that he blocks the people behind him…not to mention he can’t dance!

Of COURSE it would be Rachel that gets thrown up on.  NASTY stuff. :-/

When Sue played Will’s drunk dial call…OUCH.  That was bad.  But I guess it was to teach a lesson.

First time the WHOLE Glee Club was in the principal’s office at the same time!

Glad that after ALL the inappropriateness of this episode, they “brought it home” by doing the whole “pledge forms” angle.  Stay sober!  Good Glee message in the end!

After she gets rejected by Blaine when he realizes he really IS gay (which makes me a bit sad ’cause I thought Rachel & Blaine would make QUITE a cute and unstoppable couple ), leave it to Rachel…

…to come out of this with something positive that will benefit HER.

I just had a relationship with a guy who turned out to be gay…that is SONGWRITING GOLD!

Awesome!

Probably not my most favorite episode, but…it was definitely a different kind of episode for the show.  Fun to watch, as usual…but WILD and CRAZY!  Phew!
