Man…this week’s performances were REALLY GOOD! Based on last week’s shocker of a Bottom 3…not to mention a DOUBLE ELIMINATION tomorrow…who KNOWS what’ll happen this week!
Here are my predictions, altho with a double elimination, not sure if they do a B3:
BOTTOM 3:
Naima
Paul
Stefano
BOOTED:
Naima
Stefano
What do YOU think?

my bottom 3:
Thia
Naima
Lauren
booted: Thia and Naima
my wish for elimination: Jacob
pretty good show overall this week! the fact that most everyone did good means that tonight’s results will be mostly a straight-up popularity contest, which should be very interesting…

LAUREN?! She was one of my favorites of the night! What makes you think she’s in the B3?
Your boot picks are totally realistic, as Thia was in the B3 last week, and Naima has been dangling at the bottom for weeks now.
Your wish pick would be one of mine too…Mine would be Jacob & James.

You’re a d***. Jacob is the best male contestant. You clearly have no knowledge about music because if you did… you’d realize that Jacob (out of all the guys) has the most vocal ability. Being a music major, I appreciate how difficult it is to achieve such technical ability and how easy he makes it look. It’s people like you who tick me off because you judge people based upon their person and not their talent–which is the whole point of American Idol. Chances are, you have something against him because he’s gay. I’d like to see all the people who bash Jacob to go on live television and sing HALF as good as him. Yeah–they couldn’t. People don’t watch american idol or vote for the contestants for the right reasons anymore. No wonder the wrong people go home.

I never said that Jacob wasn’t talented. In fact, I actually mentioned that he was VERY talented. I wouldn’t be able to do what he does on stage…but that’s why he’s up there. He’s just not MY cup of tea. And being gay has nothing to do with it.
That’s why this show is so good…and why the judges pick the groups they pick. A whole variety of singers so each person can find the one they love.
Glad you’re a huge supporter/fan of Jacob’s. Keep voting to keep your favorite in there!

Oh, I didn’t mean to pinpoint that on you..I was actually initially commenting on what aaron said. Just the whole, “wish for elimination” ticked me off. As a general statement, I know people that don’t like him just because he’s gay and it really fires me up. So what if he is, he deserves to make it in the music industry… not just do well in this competition. It’s not very often that someone with that much talent gets recognized and it bothers me when people say that they wish a contestant would go home when they deserve to be there. I’m sorry if I offended you–I suppose I was a tad harsh. My apologies.

I totally agree with you…sexual orientation shouldn’t hinder your chances for something like this show AT ALL. Look at Adam Lambert (who I loved…and still love) a couple of seasons ago. He did make it all the way to the final, but he didn’t win. Did his sexual orientation have something to do with that?

Erb, my dislike for jacob has nothing to do with him being gay, black, or anything. I do not like his oversinging and his overuse of vibrato. He is a gimmick and every song he sings sounds like every other song he sings.
I stand behind everything I said and I wish he would be voted off asap.

I really do think that he is a lot of fluff, and that people sometimes confuse “technique” with “talent”.
It’s funny that you mention that you are a music major… Jacob Lusk sings like a music major, so it doesn’t surprise me that he would be liked by music majors. He’s kind of like when you go to a collegiate sporting event and they ask a music professor to sing the National Anthem. Everyone kind of politely claps and everyone in the crowd can recognize that the person singing is highly trained, but there’s not a lot of “wow” factor. That’s what Jacob is to me. He definitely has a big voice and he shows a lot of signs of vocal training… but the entertainment factor just isn’t there for me, and over time he’s just become irritating. I mean, draw some of those notes out before turning on the vibrato and make it “interesting” once in a while. When he sang that R. Kelly a few weeks back, it was so stage-ish and there was no “soul” to it. That might be his biggest problem – a big voice with no soul just sounds like… a music major.

Oh, and for you to assume that I didn’t like him because he was gay means that his sexuality is more of an issue for you than it is for me.
For what it’s worth, Ricky Smith from a few seasons back (who was both black and very gay-ish) was one of my favorites. Hercu-leeeees! Hercu-leeeees!

I totally agree with Aaron. His oversinging is beginning to be tiresome, and it almost shows a “lack” of technique, because that’s all he can do. He sings these big over exaggerated notes, while great, it almost just sounds like he’s screaming. He did great with the Motown hit, but this past Elton John week I just ignored it, because my ears started to hurt. It’s just TOO much drama.

My Bottom 3:
Naima
Casey
Paul
Booted: Naima & Paul
March 31, 2011 at 11:28 AM
Ooo…going against the save and putting Casey in there huh? TOTALLY COULD happen tho. I mean…if he had that little votes last week, who’s to say that can’t happen again.
March 31, 2011 at 11:05 AM
I’m thinking it might be Thia, Naima, and Paul for the bottom three.
I’m crossing my fingers it won’t be Thia out this week, but sadly, it might.
“No!” to Lauren. She sang beautifully and has she ever even been in the bottom three? (popularity)
March 31, 2011 at 11:20 AM
I was debating about predicting Thia too. I wouldn’t WANT to have to put her there…but considering she was there last week, she should definitely be worried.
