GLEE SNEAK PEEK: Rachel Prepares for NYADA Audition

Here’s a little preview clip from Tuesday’s “Choke” episode.

It’s a classic “Rachel Berry” sequence…as she prepares/gears herself up for her NYADA audition.  I love when Rachel does her little voiceovers.  Brings me back to Season 1/the pilot episode. :)

I am worried for her tho…as the title of the episode says…”Choke”… :-/

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: “Good Girl” with PS22 (VIDEO)

Carrie Underwood has been making her rounds promoting her new album, Blown Away, which comes out THIS TUESDAY, MAY 1st!

She paid a visit to NYC’s PS22 choir…and performed her single Good Girl with the kids’ choir of 5th graders!

It was QUITE awesome, I must say…The boy Kevin who did the solo singing with Carrie was impressive!  I mean…5th grade?!  :)  Carrie sounded amazing (love hearing her sing “impromptu” like that)!

Enjoy!

AMERICAN IDOL 4/25/12: Hollie Cavanagh — Save Me/The Climb (Top 6)

Great night for Hollie!  Including the big STANDING “O” from the judges!

SAVE ME:

THE CLIMB:

  • I thought this was a great song choice for Hollie!  I don’t know this Queen song, but it matched her voice really well and was very easy to listen to.
  • Lauren Alaina did a great version of this Miley Cyrus song last season…but Hollie’s version was just as good!  Her voice actually really soared in this one, and she seemed to really be connected to the song!  She seemed really comfortable singing it!  Great job!

Hollie was lucky enough to get the “pimp spot” this week…so hopefully that will give her a little boost with the votes!  She did well tonight, so I hope America recognizes that!

GLEE PROMO: 3.18 “Choke”

Here’s the preview for next week’s episode, entitled Choke.

NYADA auditions!  Uh oh…Could Rachel really CHOKE on her audition?!  Say it isn’t so!

DANCING WITH THE STARS 4/23/12: Katherine & Mark — Samba

Katherine really had to SHAKE IT this week…and she did!  Like she said, she was able to get “the bounce,” and she really did a great job!  This show is becoming so fancy…Bringing in the ACTUAL motown artists to sing the songs they’re dancing to?!  Wow.  Nice.

Still waiting for that elusive “30″ from the judges tho…just gotta win Len over!  Only a matter of time…

THE VOICE 4/23/12: Katrina Parker — Jar of Hearts

I still love Katrina Parker…

Loved the song choice, and I LOVED how she changed bits & pieces here and there to make it her own!I voted for her…And she was able to escape the immediate boot at the end…but she was in the Bottom last week, so I hope America sees what I see! She deserves to stay in the competition!

GLEE SNEAK PEEK: 3.17 Dance with Somebody — “How Will I Know”

Here’s a preview of How Will I Know from Tuesday’s new Whitney Houston episode.  Cool arrangement.

Enjoy!

AMERICAN IDOL TOP 7 REDUX 4/18/12: Hollie Cavanagh — Rolling in the Deep/Son of a Preacher Man

Don’t have time to blog about the whole night, but had to post/congratulate Hollie tonight!  She did GREAT!

It was a bit of a transformation for Hollie tonight…She seemed to REALLY loosen up (some would say FINALLY) and just sing with emotion and let those emotions take her through the performances!

I was really happy for Hollie…and you could tell she knew she did better!  And finally the judges gave her very good praise!  Yay!  While I hope Hollie picked up some new fans (and their votes) tonight, I do worry a bit for her.  A lot of times when a contestant hasn’t been doing too well…one week they pick it up and do great…they end up getting booted!  Let’s hope that doesn’t happen!  I do worry also that she went first in the line-up, plus since she got good feedback, she may not have as much sympathy votes this week (altho I would hope majority of her votes are from ACTUAL fans [like me!]). ;)

Good Luck Hollie!  I’m rooting for you!

GLEE PROMO: 3.17 “Dance With Somebody”

Promo for next week’s Whitney Houston themed episode entitled Dance With Somebody…Can’t wait to hear all of their versions of Whitney’s songs!

DANCING WITH THE STARS 4/16/12: Katherine & Mark — Argentine Tango

What can I say? KATHERINE FTW! :)

LOVE LOVE LOVED Katherine’s tango…As the judges said, it was PERFECTION. Umm, not to mention Kat’s outfit…SO PRETTY! Talk about throwing last week’s score in the trash…29!!! Woohoo! Come on Len…Just give her the 10 already!  Oh, and the part where she talked about hurting “Mark’s naughty bits”…LOL! :-D

On a side note, I didn’t get to watch the results show last week, so I was watching Kat & Mark’s reaction to being safe for the first time. HOW CUTE was it that they BOTH thought they were eliminated! The fact that Kat even THINKS she could’ve been going home just goes to show how humble she really is…Love her.

THE VOICE: JORDIS UNGA — A Little Bit Stronger

Well, I’m NOT a happy camper. I can’t believe that Blake booted Jordis tonight! WTH?! So I HAD to post her performance from tonight, which I thought was just GREAT! It was so DIFFERENT (I mean, this is a SARA EVANS song.  Country?  For Jordis?  Cool!)  for her, and she sang it really well! I still really love her…and wish she was still in the competition!

I know she’s been trying to make it for a while now…I hope someone picks her up/she finds a way to make it…’Cause she deserves it!

AMERICAN IDOL 4/12/12: Top 7 Results SHOCKER!

Wow, what a night!  SHOCKING B3!  THE SAVE!

Just a few comments:

  • Best part of the group song?  Colton lying on the couch with his head on Phillip’s lap…and Phil stroking Colton’s forehead.  LOL!  Loved that!
  • James Durbin:  UGH.  You know how much I did NOT like him last season.  Things haven’t changed.  AT ALL.  STOP.  SCREAMING.
  • Every time they do the group thing for the results, you KNOW it’s going to be shocking.  And it DEFINITELY WAS.  When they announced Elise was to be put in Jessica’s group, you could tell ELISE was relieved…but JESSICA looked worried.  And rightfully so. :)
  • Jennifer Hudson:  Man, gotta say her body looks quite good.  Has she lost a LOT of weight or what?!  And Ne-Yo…how short is he?!  JHud was towering over him! :-P
  • BOTTOM 3:  Joshua/Jessica/Elise — WOW.  When I knew it was probably a shocker, I figured Jessica would be one of the shockers.  But YAY…Hollie was SAFE!  She must be getting TONS of sympathy votes.  Not the best reason to be voting for someone, but hopefully being safe two weeks in a row gives her more confidence!  That’s basically all she needs.  Her voice is there.  As usual, once the B3 was announce, Elise’s face just DROPS.  Jessica surprisingly didn’t look THAT mad/shocked.
  • With Josh/Jess/Elise standing there as the B3, when Steven said that DEFINITELY they’ll be using their save tonight…did you see Elise?  Nodding in agreement with Steven?  Like yeah, you better save whoEVER has the lowest votes.  Like she felt like she DESERVES and has EARNED the save herself.  Ugh.
  • Elise LAUGHING when Ryan said to explain this B3?  STOP.  Yeah, you might be nervous, but that’s just adding to her “unappeal” for me.
  • I WISH they showed Elise’s reaction when they announced Jessica as the lowest vote getter.  Dang…they moved straight to Jess instead!
  • BOTTOM 2:  I think once it was down to Elise & Jessica, I’m quite sure Elise thought she was goner.
  • THE SAVE:  Was there ANY doubt Jessica would be saved?!  OF COURSE NOT.  While I do think Jessica was worthy of the save, the judges storming the stage to stop her from having to sing for her life was a bit…MUCH.  I think she should’ve had to sing…Everyone else has to do it.  Jessica looked so confused when JLo came up and stole that mic from her.
  • Ryan to Jess:  Did you think you would be standing here with this result?  Jess:  “No, not at all.  I don’t expect anything.”  HUH?  That doesn’t make sense.  You JUST SAID that you didn’t expect anything!
  • Somehow I felt like Jessica should’ve had a more emotional reaction to this save.  But she probably was just SO SHOCKED about what was happening.

Wow.  Jessica Sanchez had the LOWEST amount of votes out of SEVEN PEOPLE?!  That’s SAD.  She was pegged as practically the WINNER up until now.  The main reason for this results is (probably complacency.  And she sang a VERY OBSCURE song last night.  But really…if you have a STRONG fan base, no matter WHAT you sing, those fans will VOTE.  NO MATTER WHAT.  Obviously that didn’t happen.  I always said…and I still feel…that while she has a great voice, Jessica isn’t American Idol winner material.  I’m hoping America sees that too…and based on tonight, I have hope.

Now more than ever…it seems as tho one of those boys – Phillip or Colton – will WIN AMERICAN IDOL.  You CAN’T win American Idol if you’re in the B3….not to mention the fact that you had to BE SAVED.  Sorry.

Now the question is — how much time is the save going to bide Jessica?

DANCING WITH THE STARS 4/9/12: Rock Week Performances + Predictions

I didn’t have a lot of time to watch last night, so I just have a few comments about the performances:

  • While she didn’t get the highest score last night, I still loved watching Katherine.  She’s just so pretty and she really has a flair.  She did a great job with the “intensity” of the paso doble.  Considering where she started in the rehearsals, she really stepped up.  Great job!
  • I actually thought the judges were quite generous with their scores last night.  People like Gavin, who they seemed to kind of put down…they still gave him pretty decent scores!
  • Was Donald that good?  I know the football guys tend to do well with the paso.  I guess he definitely had the masculinity and intensity DOWN, but…Maybe I didn’t pay attention well enough. :-P
  • Aww…William finally messed up.  When I was watching him, pretty much the whole time I felt it was awkward and off.  Yet he still got like 8s?!
  • Roshon is another one where the judges just gushed over him, but I wasn’t necessarily impressed that much.  He’s definitely pretty good, but…Eh.  Maybe I just don’t care for him much.

PREDICTIONS:

  • Who’s going home tonight?  Tough call.  My guess would have to be Gladys.  While I love her, and I’m so happy that she doesn’t come across as a typical diva, her scores obviously need to be higher.  If not her, probably Gavin or Roshon.

THE VOICE 4/9/12: Katrina Parker – Tonight Tonight

The second of the live shows aired on The Voice. My favorite? Not surprisingly, it was Katrina Parker.

Loved her in the earlier rounds, and still love her. I love that they gave her a Smashing Pumpkins song, which is totally out of her comfort zone, yet she still made it her own…kept it in her style. Love her retro/old fashioned vibe. And her voice is just GREAT. I voted for her…Hoping she’ll make it! She has a bit of a tough road because she did go first last night…There were 11 other people who performed after her. So she could easily fall thru the cracks.

Crossing my fingers!

ONCE UPON A TIME 4/1/12: 1.18 “The Stable Boy”

  • Barbara Hershey as Regina’s mother?!  Talk about PERFECT casting!  So good.  And why was she so good?  She actually LOOKS like Lana Parilla a little bit…they look like they could be mother/daughter.  And she was GOSH DARN SCARY.  So intimidating.
  • Felt bad for Regina.  At least we know that she STARTED OUT as a GOOD GIRL.  She WASN’T at all into power and money.  Too bad her mom was so controlling about what kind of life she was going to live.
  • OK…what is the AGE DIFFERENCE between Regina & Snow?!  My gosh…Snow seems SO YOUNG!  My guess is that Snow was supposed to be around 12, and Regina was more like 18?  The fact that the King actually PROPOSED to Regina means she can’t be TOO YOUNG…you would HOPE. ;)   I thought his proposal was a bit ridiculous.  JUST because Regina saved Snow from that runaway horse?!
  • At least now we know the REAL STORY behind Regina’s hatred for Snow/Mary Margaret.  While I felt bad for Regina because of her mother’s control over her relationship with the stable boy, I also felt bad for Mary Margaret/Snow.  YES, Snow BLABBED to Regina’s mother about her love for the stable boy, MOTHER was the one who KILLED the guy!  Not Snow!  Plus Snow was a KID!  Gotta cut her a LITTLE slack.  But of course, it’s hard for her to just look past that because her heart was broken.  Lost the love of her life.
  • Now it’s unfortunate for Mary Margaret…She has to pay for something she doesn’t even remember doing!
  • The question still remains — Can we TRUST August?  Right now I think he’s good…But yet he’s so closed off as to who he is/where he’s from…Hard to fully trust him.
  • Once Emma figured out that Sydney was bugging her office, August was basically off the hook.  But whose to say they BOTH couldn’t be after her?  You NEVER know.
  • Umm…that ENDING?!  Awesome.  Kathryn is ALIVE?!  WTH?!  I thought they said that the heart they found in the box matched Kathryn’s DNA?  And now she’s ALIVE?  How?  Can’t be Regina…that would ruin her plan.  Must be Mr. Gold!
