- Barbara Hershey as Regina’s mother?! Talk about PERFECT casting! So good. And why was she so good? She actually LOOKS like Lana Parilla a little bit…they look like they could be mother/daughter. And she was GOSH DARN SCARY. So intimidating.
- Felt bad for Regina. At least we know that she STARTED OUT as a GOOD GIRL. She WASN’T at all into power and money. Too bad her mom was so controlling about what kind of life she was going to live.
- OK…what is the AGE DIFFERENCE between Regina & Snow?! My gosh…Snow seems SO YOUNG! My guess is that Snow was supposed to be around 12, and Regina was more like 18? The fact that the King actually PROPOSED to Regina means she can’t be TOO YOUNG…you would HOPE.
I thought his proposal was a bit ridiculous. JUST because Regina saved Snow from that runaway horse?! - At least now we know the REAL STORY behind Regina’s hatred for Snow/Mary Margaret. While I felt bad for Regina because of her mother’s control over her relationship with the stable boy, I also felt bad for Mary Margaret/Snow. YES, Snow BLABBED to Regina’s mother about her love for the stable boy, MOTHER was the one who KILLED the guy! Not Snow! Plus Snow was a KID! Gotta cut her a LITTLE slack. But of course, it’s hard for her to just look past that because her heart was broken. Lost the love of her life.
- Now it’s unfortunate for Mary Margaret…She has to pay for something she doesn’t even remember doing!
- The question still remains — Can we TRUST August? Right now I think he’s good…But yet he’s so closed off as to who he is/where he’s from…Hard to fully trust him.
- Once Emma figured out that Sydney was bugging her office, August was basically off the hook. But whose to say they BOTH couldn’t be after her? You NEVER know.
- Umm…that ENDING?! Awesome. Kathryn is ALIVE?! WTH?! I thought they said that the heart they found in the box matched Kathryn’s DNA? And now she’s ALIVE? How? Can’t be Regina…that would ruin her plan. Must be Mr. Gold!

Very interesting episode. Again, I was multitasking while watching, but I did concentrate on the “important” parts, esp. the interactions involving Snow and Regina. Snow looked like she was younger than 12, maybe 9 or 10….besides the way she physically looked, she had a young way of thinking and was so easily manipulated by Regina’s mother.. She looked so much like the grown up Snow! Good casting. Poor young Snow. She thought she was just helping Regina and her mother have the bond that she missed with her mother. As much as she loved Regina, all she wanted was for Regina to be happy even if that meant she wouldn’t have her for her step mother. TOTALLY unfair of Regina to hold it against her, regardless of her heartbreak. Her mother is to blame entirely for the situation, the way she verbally manipulated Snow into telling her about Regina’s plans, for killing the love of her life. I though when we knew the back story of Regina I would feel more empathy towards her, but not really. I do feel terrible that the stable boy was killed, but she is blaming the wrong person for the grief. Do you think that’s the entire reason why she hated Snow so much? Maybe there’s more to it.
In the fairy tale land, why is Snow constantly being pursued? Who’s always trying to capture her? I’ve always been confused about that. Are they the king’s men? How can it be if she’s the king’s daughter? I must have missed something major.
At the end: I thought that was Kathryn! Thanks for confirming. The whole DNA test could have been a set up to pin her death on MM. She must have escaped from where Regina was holding her. At least she didn’t kill her like she did the sheriff!

Seems like that’s the only reason Regina hates Snow/Mary Margaret. Besides the fact that Snow was the one who told Regina’s mother…Regina should know that even if Snow didn’t tell her mother, she WOULD’VE found out on her own anyway. I think Regina was just so heartbroken, she needed someone to blame/take her anger out on. And her mother is hard to hold a grudge against…I would be too scared to do anything to her. I do wonder what happened to Regina’s mother after she married the King…Do you think Regina kills her?
Yes, I believe it’s the King’s men. And aren’t they also out searching/hunting for Charming as well?
Kathryn looked like she was all dirty…like she was a bum or something. I can’t believe she escaped from Regina’s hold. Must be some other explanation. Wonder if she even remembers who she is/where she is. That was a nice little twist at the end there…
