LEA MICHELE: E! Interview

Lea did an interview with E! Online to promote her movie New Year’s Eve…although in this video, she BARELY talks about the movie.  She discusses her ACTUAL New Year’s Eve plans, upcoming projects, Glee and it’s upcoming guest stars, and Mark Salling’s “butt injury.” :)

Enjoy!

LES MISERABLES: Lea Michele vs…Taylor Swift?!

A movie version of the popular Broadway musical Les Miserables is in the works, and the pivotal role of Eponine (she sings THE famous song On My Own from the show) still hasn’t been cast.

According to reports, a handful of famous actresses are in the running/have auditioned for the part — Scarlett Johansson, Evan Rachel Wood…and two very notable ones being Lea Michele (yay!) and…Taylor Swift?!

Credit: CBS/Getty

You have GOT to be kidding me!  Taylor Swift?!  Come on now!  While I am a fan of Taylor’s, if we’re talking Les Miserables, there’s NO COMPETITION.  Lea Michele WAS in certain productions as Eponine before.  Not to mention the vocal ability.  I mean, can you imagine Taylor singing On My Own?!

I know they may consider Taylor because of the amount of pull/audience she would be able to attract considering how popular she is, but…I’m sorry…let’s just hope they make the right decision on this one…

GLEE CASTING NEWS: Ricky Martin!

GLEE: 3.03 “Asian F” *SPOILERS*

A bunch of tidbits & spoilers have been leaked/revealed for Tuesday’s Glee episode.  According to sources, this episode is one of, if not THE BEST episode EVER of the show…

Spoilers via E! (@KristenDSantos):

  • An awesome Heather Morris number: “Run the World (Girls).” (You may feel an uncontrollable urge to get up and dance.)
  • Harry Shum Jr.’s first solo. It’ll blow you away! He is amazing in this episode, and proves himself fully worthy as a full-fledged series regular. Also, there’s a scene with his mom that will make you cry.
  • The best Amber Riley performance ever, as she seeks to prove she’s a lead in her West Side Story audition.
  • A “Maria-Off” between Rachel and Mercedes that “we’ll be talking about forever,” per Kurt.
  • My favorite-ever Will and Emma scene toward the end of the episode. (Bring Kleenex.)
  • A “supremacist” storyline that will make you laugh…then cry.
  • A nod to The Glee Project. (There are auditions for the school play, you know!)
  • A Mercedes twist that changes the course of the season.

Spoilers via EW (@MichaelAusiello):

“Asian F” focuses mostly on Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr.) and Mercedes (Amber Riley), two characters who finally get a rich showcase. Mike gets an A- on a test (an “Asian F”) and his father becomes worried that glee club and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) are a distraction. Meanwhile, Mercedes and Rachel (Lea Michele) battle it out for the role of Maria in West Side Story. I don’t want to spoil too much of the episode but it’s chock full of amazing numbers, including Brittany (Heather Morris)’s rollicking version of  Beyonce’s “(Girls) Run the World.” The episode also features covers of Jennifer Hudson’s “Spotlight” and Coldplay’s “Fix You,” alongside some truly moving moments (not only do we meet Mike’s mother and father, but also Emma’s parents).

Song Spoilers!
  1. Run The World – Beyonce – (Heather Morris)
  2. Cool – West Side Story – (Harry Shrum, Jr. He sings)
  3. Out Here On My Own – Fame – (Lea Michele)
  4. It’s All Over – Dreamgirls – (Amber Riley)
  5. Spotlight – Jennifer Hudson – (Amber Riley)
  6. Fix You – Coldplay – (Matt Morrison)

Here’s also a short sneak peek at the episode (Tamlyn Tomita!):

LEA MICHELE: Single Lady!

THIS JUST IN!  Lea Michele is now a single lady!  It has been revealed that Lea and her boyfriend of over a year, Theo Stockman, have broken up!

According to E!, this has been confirmed by Lea’s rep: “This is not a dramatic breakup, the relationship just ran its course,” the rep said in a statement. “They are still friends and will always be friends.

Oh boy…the press is gonna be all over Lea now…wondering who she will be dating NEXT… ;)

DAMIAN & SAMUEL: Glee Roles Revealed (Sorta)

Some information about the roles The Glee Project‘s Damian & Sam will be playing has been revealed:

  • Damian will join the cast first in episode 4. He plays an exchange student named Rory and will be staying with…Brittany’s family! (Heather Morris). OH THE HILARITY THAT WILL ENSUE!  I can’t wait for the myriad of crazy ways Brittany misinterprets his accent.  Santana is not pleased about the arrangement, apparently.  The producers are currently casting Brittany’s mother.
  • Samuel will join the cast a little later–around episode 9. The reason for the delay is because the producers want to focus on the core cast this year. There are NO guest stars in the 1st 9 episodes (not counting Idina Menzel who has joined the cast already, according to tweets).

GLEE: Comic Con 2011 Reveals

Glee had a Q&A panel at the annual Comic Con today…Some of the cast members as well as the producers were in attendance:

And there was some INTERESTING reveals from the panel session.  Quite a big turnaround from what’s been revealed in the news recently

  • Chord?  Still out – Chord Overstreet’s exit, however, is still a go, Falchuk said. In fact, he won’t return this fall for any episodes. Falchuk said Overstreet was offered a deal to return for 10 episodes with the possibility of becoming a series regular, but Overstreet declined in favor of other opportunities.
  • The new season will be split into two “mini-seasons” that mimic school semesters, Falchuk said.
  • Fans can expect a deeper look into the characters’ lives and their post-high-school aspirations. Broadway star Idina Menzel will return, and Sue Sylvester, the mean-spirited cheerleading coach played by Jane Lynch (who won an Emmy last year for the role), will be running for Congress in season three in an attempt to destroy all glee clubs.

Sue is running on a no-arts platform,” Falchuk said.

  • He also said that some of the glee kids will be seniors, while others such as Jenna Ushkowitz are juniors next season. A   “number of original people are not graduating.”
  • Mercedes will have a new boyfriend she met over the summer in new season..”- Brad Falchuck
  • Coach Bieste will be back in upcoming season! Yay!  We love Beiste!
  • Tina and Artie getting back together? Doesn’t look like it. Also, we’re gonna meet Mike’s parents this season.
  • The biggest news?  Lea Michele, Cory Monteith & Chris Colfer WILL NOT be leaving the show after this season!  UMM…WHAT?!  According to producer Brad Falchuck:  “…even though the three were set to finish high school, “because they’re graduating doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show. If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don’t say, ‘We’re gonna let you go.’”
  • “It was never our plan or our intention to let them go,” Fulchuk added. “They are not done with the show after this season.”
  • EW confirmed that all of the actors have signed traditional seven-year contracts so it’s not like their deals were going to expire after next season, though the studio retains the right to drop them year after year.

Man…so what’s UP WITH THAT?!  Talk about conflicting stories!  I guess when Ryan Murphy said that they were graduating, he never officially said they were LEAVING THE SHOW…just that they were GRADUATING.  That’s actually pretty sneaky. :-P

Now altho this has now been revealed, I’m still not totally SECURE in this fact that those 3 stars are not leaving.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see…but it definitely gives me more HOPE and RELIEF that I’ll still be able to watch the show after Season 3. ;-)

NAYA RIVERA: Record Deal!

First Mark Salling and Matthew Morrison, now Naya Rivera.  It’s just been released that Naya has signed a record deal with Columbia Records to release a solo album.

Supposedly Naya’s supposed to start working on the album once the Glee Live! tour ends later this month.  No word on when they plan to release the album.

Hmm…things are starting to happen for these Gleeks huh.  Preparing for the “fallback” after they finish their run on the show I assume?  That’s pretty impressive that Naya got a deal already.  She really only has been singing more on the show this season.  But I do notice the show really DOES give her quite a few solos.  I mean she already has more solo singing time than Jenna, and Jenna’s been around since the beginning!  Wonder why type of musical genre Naya would do…my guess is more on the soulful side?

GLEE: Season 2 Regionals *SPOILERS*! *UPDATED*

More spoilers about Regionals below…

Here’s quite the JUICY RUMOR about this season’s Regionals from Michael Ausiello @ TV Line:

The Grim Reaper, of all people, will be crashing Regionals! Rumor has it someone will sing their swan song just prior to the big competish. And to say the tragedy has a significant impact on the long-awaited event is big freakin’ understatement.

Now…WTH does THAT mean?!  The Grim Reaper?  Swan song?!  WHO are we talking about?!

Supposedly here’s the Regionals set list:

“Get it Right” performed by Rachel (original) Yay!  I’m excited for this one!

“Loser Like Me” performed by New Directions (original) New Directions “goes rogue” for their Regionals performance by throwing a slushie at the audience.

“Jesus is my Friend” (Songseed) performed by Aural Intensity Why am I not suprised?!  Leave it to Sue to go for the “Jesus angle”…

“Candles” (Hey Monday) performed by Kurt and Blaine. Finally!  Kurt gets a lead!

“Raise Your Glass” (P!nk) by the Warblers Woohoo!  Great song choice!

Any thoughts/predictions/theories?  I wanna hear them…!

SOUND OFF in the comments… :)

GLEE RUMOR: New Love Interest for Rachel? + *POLL*

According to TV Line, there’s a rumor that Rachel will be “hooking up” with someone…OTHER than Finn (which I am TOTALLY fine with ;) ) or Puck (Aww…NO PUCKLEBERRY?!)!

WHO COULD IT BE?!

Or maybe the BETTER question is…

COUPLE NEWS: Jenna Ushkowitz & Michael Trevino!

OK, I normally don’t like to post “gosssip-y” dating reports like this…but since it involves stars from BOTH of my favorite shows, I couldn’t resist!

It is being reported that Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee) & Michael Trevino (The Vampire Diaries) are dating!

Michael attended the SAG awards last night with Jenna, and supposedly it was pretty evident that they were a couple.

Rumors were already swirling when Michael was with Jenna at Naya Rivera’s birthday party in Las Vegas the other weekend…Jenna & Michael were looking pretty chummy:

Umm…a GLEEk and a werewolf dating?!  How cool is that?!

I personally hope it’s true…I think it’s pretty cute…

NO ORDINARY FAMILY CASTING NEWS: Lucy Lawless!

It has just been announced that Lucy Lawless will be visiting No Ordinary Family for at least 5 episodes toward the end of the season!

Lucy will play a powerful woman (quite the stretch!) and potential adversary for the Powell family whose agenda could put them in danger.

Yay!  I love Lucy…back from her Xena:  Warrior Princess days (that show was a big guilty pleasure of mine ;) )…it’ll be great to see her again (altho I know she’s already on Spartacus, which I don’t watch)!

Gives me another reason to keep watching this show (It’s not my most favorite, but it has moments, so I’ve been watching every week)…

THE OFFICE CASTING NEWS: Will Ferrell!

Wow, this is BIG news!  It’s just been announced that none other than WILL FERRELL will be joing The Office for a 4-EPISODE stint before Steve Carell leaves the show!

Supposedly Will approached the show’s producers about “offering his services because he’s a fan and  wanted to commemorate Carell’s swan song by taking part.” He will play a branch manager who comes from the home office and is just as inappropriate as Steve Carell’s Michael Scott character.

This is big!  Will hasn’t done TV since his Saturday Night Live days.  And altho he’s a big name…there’s NO WAY he will be able to REPLACE…or even really COMPETE will Steve Carell on that show as far as the comedy/humor goes.  At least not in my opinion.  Steve really makes that show.  But it’ll be quite entertaining to see the two of them together on the small screen!

No word yet on WHEN Will’s episodes will air, but he has committed to one episode beyond Carell’s finale, to help create a bridge.

GLEE: John Says No

Unlike his Grease co-star Olivia Newton-John, looks like we won’t be getting any Danny Zuko on Glee anytime soon.  Supposedly the show did approach John Travolta about making a guest appearance on the show, but he turned it down due to not having enough time to rehearse for any type of musical number he would do if he was on…

“They’ve asked but when I do musicals I train for six to nine months… and a show like that is an on-demand thing. I really have a criteria or a pride that I would wanna knock ‘em dead, and I don’t think I’d knock ‘em dead in a week.”

6 to 9 months?!  Seriously?!  We’re talking GUEST APPEARANCE/CAMEO, not starring in a Broadway musical for months!  I’m sorry, but I think his “excuse” is a bit much.  Come on.

GLEE RUMOR: Justin Bieber Episode – FALSE!

Twitter was EXPLODING today with reports that Glee would be doing a JUSTIN BIEBER-CENTRIC episode this season.

BUT…

…THANK GOD it was ONLY  a rumor!  Glee creator Ryan Murphy spoke exclusively to Perez Hilton and explained:

“Glee is NOT doing a Justin Bieber tribute episode. We are not doing any more of those this season. Those are reserved for artists with a big catalogue, ala Madonna and Britney, etc.”

“We are doing an episode where Sam sings a JB song to win Quinn back…and copies his hairstyle, etc. But it’s a small part of a big episode that has a LOT of other things going on.”

When I first heard the rumor I was like, “Now THAT’S going TOO FAR with the theme episodes!”  I mean…Madonna – OK…Britney – I can see…but JUSTIN BIEBER?!  GIVE ME A BREAK!  Doing A SONG of his in an episode…fine.  I mean, his music IS in the popular mainstream right now, so that’s justified, but a WHOLE EPISODE devoted to him?!

THANK GOODNESS!

We can all rest easy now… ;)
