ARMY WIVES 3/25/12: 6.05 “True Colors”

  • I knew it would happen — That darn Jackie is driving a wedge between Denise & Claudia Joy.  Knew it as soon as we found out Denise & Jackie already knew each other when she came to Fort Marshall!  Argh!
  • In a way, Susan Lucci’s character Audrey really fueled the fire by really “coaching” CJ and giving her all this “dirty” info about Jackie & her husband.  But yet I don’t think Audrey was telling any lies.  I do believe Jackie really IS that sneaky and so is her husband.  Didn’t trust them from the moment they arrived.
  • What’s sad is that Denise DOESN’T see it.  And in a way, why would she?  She already had a friendship with Jackie, so OF COURSE she’s not going to think anything bad about her.  And Claudia Joy really DOESN’T know Jackie…only the stuff that Audrey told her.  So of course Denise will defend Jackie.  But Denise spilling the beans about Michael’s retirement?!  BAD.
  • I was feeling really bad for CJ…She wants to do the right thing, especially when it comes to Michael and his career…yet she doesn’t want to have to “stoop down” to do it.  But Michael is frustrating too because even HE doesn’t see that by being so supportive of Jackie & her husband, he’s basically just GIVING them that power to push him out!
  • I hate that CJ & Denise are fighting.  I really want Jackie’s true colors to come out!  But there IS a small part of me that thinks MAYBE Denise is right?  I really HOPE she’s not, but so far, Jackie & her husband are doing an AWESOME job of covering ALL their bases.
  • Ah…so THIS is what they’re going to give to Roxynow that Pamela’s not there.  Now that she doesn’t have her best friend around, she’s going to get involved with the FRG.  That’ll be interesting.  Poor Roxy does have to sorta change parts of her to support her role of an officer’s wife, but she’s really stepping up!  Good for her!
  • Felt really bad for Joan when Clarke reprimanded her.  Michael would NEVER talk to her like that.  Ugh.  Also felt bad for her at the town meeting.  Poor thing was trying to reach out to the people and she got bashed.  Hard.
  • Great to see her work on the website at the urging of Charlie, and it seems to be paying off.  Colonel Joan is in the house! :)

I really hope CJ & Denise make up soon!  And I hope CJ isn’t getting sick again (what was that part where she had a “headache”?!)!  If anything, that would actually bring the two of them back together.  I always loved the friendship between CJ & D.  We need to get it back!

KIM DELANEY: Slurred Speech

Oh boy…Kim Delaney attended an event where she was supposed to give a speech for former U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Umm…WTH was wrong with Kim?!  For one thing, her hair is all mussed and disheveled.  Then when she was giving her speech, she could barely read the teleprompter…she had to pause frequently, and her speech was even sorta slurred at times!  It was so bad that at the end, her speech had to be cut off, and she was asked to leave the stage. :-/  Umm…AWKWARD!

NOT GOOD.  Especially considering she plays an ARMY GENERAL’S WIFE on her show!  Hard to believe it’s even her…It’s sad to see her so “off” like this…

Supposedly Kim has had issues with alcohol in the past, even getting arrested for drunk driving in 2002.  So this may be what we’re seeing here…MAN.  How sad.  Also, is that a tattoo she has on her left arm?

ARMY WIVES 6/12/11: 5.13 “Farewell To Arms” (Season Finale)

Now…this WAS only the SEASON finale right?  The way they ended this episode…I wasn’t quite sure…

Fort Marshall is being disbanded?!  WTH?!  Umm…how is this show going to continue if all the wives aren’t on the same post anymore?!  I’m confused.

Just some other thoughts:

  • So happy for Joan!  David FINALLY seems to be accepting her/letting her in.  I was feeling SO bad for her.
  • Glad Roxy was able to get the truck stop opened…and that Trevor was big enough to suggest Whit as the foreman.
  • Did NOT expect Finn to find out about Whit being his dad…but at least it’s out in the open and they can still be friends.  Poor TJ…he got the short end of the stick with his dad.  He’ll never get to meet his dad.
  • It’s sweet how Denise helped Tanya move on from Jeremy.

So what IS happening with this show?  On Lifetime they DID say that Army Wives was renewed for a Season 6!  So how are they going to do that when Fort Marshall is shutting down?!  Obviously something has to happen where it DOESN’T shut down…either that or because they had said in this episode that it’s gonna take like 6 months before they all have to leave, they can do the whole Season 6 over that 6-month span?

Guess we’ll have to see next season…

ARMY WIVES 5/22/11: 5.11 “Drop Zone”

Not TOO much happened in this episode…but not without some tears. :(

There aren’t too many opportunities (other than SAD ones) where we get to see EVERYONE all together.  So the welcome BBQ for David was great!  Love seeing everyone interacting with each other and having a good time!

Poor Emmelin…no WONDER she was acting weird ever since she got home…not doing well in school, got kicked off the hockey team. :(   Totally understandable that she would need a bit of an adjustment period.  Bad enough she had to deal with just COLLEGE itself, but she had to worry about hockey as well.  Poor thing.  Does this mean Emmalin will be coming back into the storyline a bit more as a regular?  Ever since she went away to school, I figured she was just kinda off the show…

Now for the waterworks.  I felt SO BAD for Joan.  She already was the one more hesitant about adoption because she didn’t know if SHE would be able to love someone else’s child.  Now come to find out THE CHILD doesn’t LIKE HER…Aww!  Can’t imagine how much it must hurt to see David bonding/warming up to Roland so easily…yet when she tries to reach out to him, he rejects her. :(   Considering how much rejection he’s felt from female parents all his life, it’s understandable he’d be guarded…but still…Poor Joan!  She may just have to give it some more time…altho it’s hard to be so loving to a boy who isn’t showing much love in return. :-/

Just a couple other thoughts:

I think Denise should totally go back to Nursing.  She’s good at it…and I’m SURE she’ll start to get a bit stir crazy at home.  It’s cute that Frank brought it up to Denise from his side.  Their relationship sure has come a long way!

What’s going on with Michael?!  He’s lashing out a bit at CJ…getting pulled over by the cops…he’s kinda going thru a phase right now.  Poor guy.  Being turned down for that promotion and finding out some “lower” guy got the job instead?  Not a bit boost in your confidence.

Interesting they brought Pamela’s old partner Boone back into the storyline.  His new gf?  UGH.  Seems about right tho that he’d end up with someone like that…he’s a nice guy, so those kind of girls totally “prey” on guys like him.  Maybe now Pam can help him with that/open his eyes a bit.  He deserves better.

ARMY WIVES 5/8/11: 5.09 “Coming Home”

Sorry, I think it’s been a while since I’ve blogged about this show.  A lot of stuff has happened now that everyone is home…

  • I’m still torn about the whole Roxy/Trevor thing.  I totally understand that Trevor is pissed at Roxy for hiring Witt and not telling him about it.  But I also understand why Roxy didn’t/couldn’t tell  him.  It was kind of a sad situation because I felt like Witt deserved to spend time with Finn…considering Finn’s his son.  But I guess in the end Witt had to leave.  But honestly, I don’t think Witt was the problem.  Seems like Trevor’s been unhappy for a while…
  • It was so touching that Denise went down to greet the troops, knowing how hard it was for her knowing that if the worst didn’t happen, Jeremy was supposed to be returning with this group. :(   Cute how Jeremy’s “brothers” came and gave Denise those pictures of them with Jeremy.
  • I really wish Roland & Joan could’ve adopted/fostered Bobby.  He was SO adorable…and he loved Roland. :(   I’m thinking something with happen with that one tho…and they’ll end up getting him.  Seemed odd to just introduce that kid like that and it go nowhere.
  • I’m actually glad that Claudia Joy told Michael about Grant kissing her.  That really wasn’t something that she could keep from him forever.  And Michael’s little “threat” to Grant was very justified.  I just love Michael & CJ’s relationship.  It really is just SO SOLID.  They are so devoted to each other and so open…that’s the kind of marriage most people strive for.

ARMY WIVES 4/10/11: 5.06 “Walking Wounded”

Another tough episode…very emotional.

  • Totally understand Denise having a hard time with Jeremy’s death…but when Claudia Joy came over, and Denise kind of “accused” CJ of being able to just “get over” Amanda’s death…that was a bit much.
  • Felt bad for Frank too…when Denise told him that it was “so easy” for him to just deploy again.  Like he didn’t care.  Poor guy…we all know that it’s JUST as hard for Frank to deal with losing his son.  Frank just puts up a tougher front.
  • Poor CJ…having to deal with/listen to Denise mourn over Jeremy made her start to be haunted by Amanda.  Although it was nice to see Amanda again, it did bring back all those memories of when Amanda was suddenly killed. :(
  • Gotta give it to Roxy.  Even when the chips are down, she found a way of making the truck stop plan work.  I just hope everything works out.  I can see why Roxy would be trying to prepare/plan for the worst.  Have her at least have something to fall back on in case something happens to Trevor out in the field.
  • Glad that Joan went to Roland to kind of “call him on it” with the fact that he was holding back those soldiers from re-deploying.  He needed to hear it.
  • The scene with Frank & Roland was great.  I think Frank thanking Roland for helping with Jeremy’s therapy really made Roland see that he really did make Jeremy a better person.  It was very sweet of Frank to thank Roland, and so touching that Frank was so grateful for the time he and Jeremy had together in Afghanistan.  I mean, they wouldn’t have had that bonding time had Jeremy not re-enlisted, which was because of Roland and Denise.
  • Pam & Chase…talk about hot n heavy huh? :)   It’s nice to see them so happy together.  I sure hope it lasts…altho you KNOW something’s gotta “spoil” their fun at some point…right?
  • Denise & Frank finding Jeremy’s letter…oh boy…*sob*…that was tough.  It really did help both Frank & Denise (especially Denise) heal a bit.  Molly’s christening ceremony was really sweet.  Denise & Frank’s speeches were so heartfelt.  BTW, Molly is SUPER CUTE!  Such a pretty girl!  Kinda looks like Frank, don’t you think? :)

ARMY WIVES 4/3/11: 5.05 “Soldier On”

Another emotional one…

  • Felt really bad for Michael not getting the promotion.  Just for being HONEST in order to protect his men. :(
  • Denise is taking this really hard  Sad that she’s so “closed off” to everyone.  I thought if anything she’d at least open up to Claudia Joy.  But then again, she did just lose her SON.  CJ had a tough time when Amanda was killed too.  It was really heartbreaking when Denise admitted she blames herself for Jeremy’s death since she “allowed” him to re-enlist in the Army. :(
  • When the trunk of Jeremy’s possessions came, I could see why that was the “last straw” for Denise.  Especially how he had those personal pictures taped up on the inside. :(
  • So Denise told CJ that she can’t go back to Fort Marshall…what does this mean?
  • I’m glad Pamela & Chase are getting married again!  I do still wonder in the back of mind if somehow it’s not going to work out as easily/happily as they hope.  I mean…Chase IS really quitting Delta right?
  • Probably wasn’t the best idea for Roxy to go ahead and invest in that truck stop withOUT really totally discussing it with Trevor…but Trevor is being pretty irritating lately.  I know he’s away and it’s hard…but it’s like he doesn’t like ANYTHING Roxy does when he’s not there.  I just hope the truck stop plan goes through…otherwise Roxy’s dug herself a pretty deep hole. :-/
  • Poor Roland.  He’s really taking Jeremy’s death hard.  I mean, I’m sure he gets invested/involved emotionally with MANY of his patients…but I guess because Jeremy was Denise’s son, that made it even more personal.  Maybe he feels a bit responsible too because as Jeremy’s doctor, he “approved” Jeremy going back out into the field?

In a lot of ways, this episode was actually MORE emotional than the previous ones.  I guess all this aftermath stuff brings up a lot of other emotions now that everyone has had time to process it.

ARMY WIVES 3/27/11: 5.04: On Behalf Of A Grateful Nation

Credit: mylifetime.com

We were warned to have our tissues ready for this episode…and boy am I glad I did!

Boy, was this episode a cryfest or what?!  SO SAD about Jeremy.  Altho he died while fighting for our country.  Very noble.  And based on what we saw, it seemed to have happened very fast.

I can’t even imagine what Denise & Frank are going through.  To lose a child is just…unthinkable.  I thought they both (especially Frank) did a great job with the emotion.

What was even more sad was the fact that Jeremy never got to meet his new little sister, Molly. :(  That was a bit of a killer for me.  Even Frank only got to meet Molly for the first time when he came home now.  I guess in a way it’s nice that Frank & Denise have Molly…to carry on the Sherwood legacy.

The funeral service was very nice.  Especially when Emmalin spoke.  So cute how she referring to Jeremy as her brother.  Then even moreso when Emmalin “told Jeremy” to watch over her sister Amanda…AWW! :(  So sweet.

Now the question is…Tanya.  What place is she going to have in Denise & Frank’s lives now that Jeremy’s gone?  Do you think she may be pregnant, then she’ll have a blood tie to the family?  Otherwise she really doesn’t have much else of a reason to continue on the show…right?  I’m thinking they gotta make her pregnant…otherwise introducing her character at all seems like it was a waste.

Great episode…and very fitting with all the military families out there.

ARMY WIVES 3/20/11: 5.03 “Movement To Contact”

Professor Chandler was acting so cold and mean this whole episode…until we find out why.  CJ and Professor Chandler are definitely starting to bond, especially now that they have the “loss of a child” in common.  Hmm…I’m sure this is all leading to some “compromising” situations…

It’s cute how all the ladies have really embraced Tanya.  To throw her the bridal shower…how Denise had the little talk with Tanya when she was having cold feet.  It was pretty sweet to see the conversation between Jeremy & Tanya.  So devoted.

WTH is going on with TJ?!  Now he’s hurting OTHER people?  To hurt Lucas like that in a “friendly” football game?  Come on.  That’s pretty bad.  I’m glad they didn’t change the actors for Lucas or Katie.  How much longer is this “bad TJ” going to stick around?  I’m guessing until Trevor gets home.

Umm…THAT END.  Geez!  What a cliffhanger.  I think EVERYONE who’s been watching this show this season has been waiting to find out who dies.  Now that we’ve seen this much, my guess is Jeremy.  I mean, they really have “set up” his storyline so much (the engagement, his will) that it seems like it HAS to be him.  That would make the most sense.  If it does end up being Jeremy, ow heartbreaking.  He hasn’t even met his little sister Molly in person yet!  He was just going to be starting the next phase in his life with the woman he loves…talk about tragic.  And what about Denise?!

Guess we’ll find out next week.  Better get your tissues ready…

ARMY WIVES 3/13/11: 5.02 “Command Presence”

  • What in the world is going on with TJ?!  I mean, this rebelling is just…crazy.  Is it just because Trevor’s not home?  I don’t know if I’m liking this new actor they got for the role.  Obviously they did on purpose because this guy’s having to do a lot heavier stuff than the old one, but…he’s just not as likable.  But I’m sure that’s the point. ;)
  • I wasn’t a big fan of the way Trevor just ripped into Roxie on the phone.  I mean yes…obviously he’s away and she’s supposed to hold down the fort.  But he shouldn’t have immediately accused her of cheating before he even let her explain Witt and the circumstances of why he was in town, why she was seen with him, etc.  I thought Trevor was more trusting than that.  Roxie probably didn’t think of how it looked to other people, but still…Trevor shouldn’t have jumped the gun so much.
  • Ah…Joan becoming Garrison Commander definitely brings so new “issues” in the storyline.  TJ’s “sentencing” was the perfect example.  While Joan’s “punishment” was definitely pretty steep for a kid who did admit to what he did and returned all of the stolen goods, Joan has to do her job and stick to the rules/protocol.  Roxie can’t expect her to be lenient just because she and Joan have personal ties.  Especially right now when Joan was JUST promoted.  And for Roxie to go to Roland about it was a bit much.

  • I felt really bad for Claudia Joy that no one was able to make it to her graduation.  To see her walking out alone when everyone else had at least someone to greet them. :(
  • A new job with her former professor…and interesting development (but quite predictable).  That will definitely cause some tension between CJ and Michael.
  • Something’s GOTTA happen between Grant and CJ…right?

  • Glad that Molly’s OK and out of the woods.  It was odd to me that they didn’t have any scenes with Frank or Jeremy.  I mean, considering it was a health scare with the baby, you would’ve thought Denise MUST’VE gotten in touch with either Frank or Jeremy about it.  Glad that Denise & Tanya made up too.
  • Not a surprise AT ALL that Pamela didn’t take the Atlanta job…that she told Boone she’s still in love with Chase…and that Chase said he quit Delta for good and wants to be with his family.
  • UMM…what was that ending there?!  Why was Chase running off with his team like he used to before?  I thought he was done with Delta?  Or was that just because he’s finishing up with it?  He did tell Pam that it would take about a month for all the paperwork to get processed.  But by them showing Pamela calling Chase and once again he can’t answer his phone ’cause he’s off on a job…are they saying he’s been lying to her about quitting Delta?  I was a bit confused.

ARMY WIVES 3/6/11: 5.01 “Line of Departure”

After that very cryptic and pretty heavy preview, I can see why this season premiere was so disappointing.  Basically…hardly anything happened! (or at least nothing REALLY TRAGIC happened…YET)

It’s about time that Pamela’s partner finally made his move!  I think we ALL knew he was “sweet on her” for a long time now.  Wow, so she really is considering maybe he might be a “potential”?  Like Roxie said, the fact that she kissed him (or he kissed her…but she allowed it) wasn’t cheating, since Pam & Chase are officially divorced.  But I can see why Pamela might feel a BIT guilty about it.  It would be interesting to see Pam in a relationship with…Boone?  Was that his name?  He’s a bit dorky and awkward sometimes, but his heart’s in the right place.  And I feel that he genuinely has feelings for her.  He’s actually been a big comfort and a great friend to Pamela since she’s been in the force/separated from Chase.

Denise having to meet/get to know Tanya withOUT Jeremy there was definitely a bit awkward, to say the least.  Tanya was very sweet in that she was so nervous…especially when she was comparing Jeremy & Frank.  :-/  But in typical “first meeting” fashion, things did not go well.  I thought Denise handled it pretty well overall…UNTIL Tanya “questioned” Molly being sick.  Then Denise took it personally.  Not a good start.  Oh well.  I’m sure they’ll get past it.  Once Jeremy comes home, that’ll make a big difference.

I actually really liked Finn’s dad.  He seems like such a good guy.  Roxie always said she had a good relationship with him, and now we can see why.  And OMG…they recast TJ!  Older boy now!  Guess that means TJ’s storyline is gonna pick up this season.  Already we’re seeing a much more “mature” and “attitude-filled” boy.  Roxie’s got a handful with him, I think.

I know Molly’s health scare was the big cliffhanger of the episode, but…eh.  It was so predictable.  Sad tho that Frank hasn’t even met his daughter in person and already she is having health problems.  Next episode looks a bit heavier and filled with more drama.

I’m sure that preview that was shown was for the WHOLE season in a nutshell, so I think we just have to prepare ourselves for the fact that all the dramatic and shocking things won’t necessarily be happening any time soon.  Or at least not all at once.

‘Til next week…

ARMY WIVES 8/15/10: 4.17 “Deadly Force”

Don’t have too much to write about this episode since it was such a SEPARATE episode.  It was almost like we were watching a totally different show!

I’m still trying to figure out why they did an episode like this.  I read online that people thought maybe it was because they are “testing out” the possibility of a spin-off.  Hmm…MAYBE.

I felt like we were watching a “toned down” Rizzoli & Isles. :P   Gabrielle Union was a nice touch.  She and Pamela worked well together…I could see them as partners.

It was a bit odd how they just threw in little scenes with CJ, Denise, Roxy.  Kinda random, but they had to put them in there just to keep it “Army Wives.”

Then to “bring it all back,” they ended with Joan coming to tell CJ that something happened with Michael.  Nice way to set up the season finale this Sunday.

What do you think happened to Michael?  My guess is he was kidnapped/captured.  Looks like his situation will be a big focus of the season finale…that and Denise giving birth.

Can’t believe the season’s practically over already!  That was fast…
