BROTHERS & SISTERS 4/24/11: 5.20 “Father Unknown”

• Well, it’s official!  Brody IS Sarah’s father.  I guess I shouldn’t be surprised with Sarah’s reaction.  It’s not like she was without a father growing up, so she doesn’t feel the need to have a relationship with him.  It’s a tough situation for Nora tho.  We know she really does have feelings for Brody…but knowing her daughter doesn’t want anything to do with him, how can Nora expect to try to have a relationship with Brody?!
• Totally don’t blame Saul for bringing up the prenup idea to Sarah.  Especially since Sarah already has been through a marriage/divorce…one that didn’t end well.
• The whole Kevin/Michelle/Scotty thing with baby Daniel was pretty crazy.  Kevin OVERREACTED SO MUCH when he answered Scotty’s phone and Michelle was on the other end.  He TOTALLY drove her to run by threatening her like that.  So dumb.  He lucked out that Michelle gave in (or got too scared) at the end.  I feel for Olivia now tho. She seems SO happy with her new family…and now there’s a new baby that’s REALLY THEIRS in the mix now.  :-/

BROTHERS & SISTERS 3/6/11: 5.16 “Home Is Where The Fort Is”

• Yay…Kevin, Scotty & Olivia are a family!  She is very sweet.  She just needs to get used to being part of a family.

• It’s so nice to have Kitty back!  The dynamic just isn’t the same (especially with Sarah & Nora) without Kitty.
• Nora is hilarious…Kitty is in the CIA…she cracks me up!  Altho Langley, the “bag switch”…funny stuff.
• So sad to think Kitty’s been going through this “setback” in Washington DC all by herself!
• Yay, Kitty is back home where she belongs!

• I did like seeing Luke & Paige bond.  I felt so bad for Paige when her crush dumped her for another girl at the dance.

• I loved seeing the whole family together at Evan’s party at the end.  All those family moments are what makes this show great.  Love the Walkers!

BROTHERS & SISTERS 2/13/11: 5.14 “The One That Got Away”

• Saul finally has a boyfriend!  When Saul “sabotaged” Jonathan’s dinner with the critic (BTW, “Pork n Beans” was hilarious!)…that was pretty funny stuff!

• Amazing how man secrets the Walker family has!  And this time it’s NOT William’s secret!  Sarah may NOT be William’s daughter?!  Geez!
• When Sarah brought this “revelation” to her brothers…and they didn’t take it very seriously…so mean!  This is when I miss Kitty!  Sarah could use her ally sister Kitty to help back her up!
• Where IS Kitty BTW?!  She’s missing everything important – Tommy’s return…Sarah’s “father” revelation…Hello?

Looks like next week we get to meet the infamous “Brody”…and it’s Beau Bridges!  They sure are piling on the guest stars…!  Should be a fun episode!

BROTHERS & SISTERS 1/16/11: 5.13 “Safe At Home”

• Tommy’s back!  First thing I said when I saw him…he looked so skinny!  It makes him look younger…

• Tommy’s girlfriend…er, fiancee…umm, not sure what to say about her.  Have to say I’m not in love with her right now.  BUT first thing I was thinking was…they’ve GOTTA be bringing her on for a REASON.  And SURE ENOUGH…

• Kinda glad that the relationship between Justin & Annie is over.  Eh…I was getting kinda bored with them, and was surprised how much time they devoted to their relationship.

• Kevin & Scotty’s “daughter”…I KNOW she’s had a tough life and it’s hard to trust people, but…I was getting a bit annoyed with her.
• Sad that she can’t read…that made me feel a LITTLE bad about getting annoyed with her earlier.

 

• KNEW they brought Tommy’s girl on for a reason!  Family tree research…which was KINDA CREEPY in the first place (like a stalker or something…she knew more about the Walkers than they did!), paid off…
• So the BIG REVEAL this episode…Nora’s wedding date ISN’T what Tommy thought it was.  WHAT?!  What does that MEAN?!  Seems like maybe SARAH (since she’s the oldest) ISN’T William’s?!  WTH?!

BROTHERS & SISTERS: Holly OUT (For Now)

To answer my question from last night’s episode…I guess it IS true – Holly (and Patricia Wettig) is leaving the show!  At least for now…

As of now, Holly IS gone…but supposedly the door is being left open for a possible return at some point.  Which makes sense.

Kinda sad knowing that Holly is gone…but hopefully they’ll bring her back.  Especially if the show does end (which easily could be this season), it would be nice if they brought Holly and Rebecca back…they were such big parts of the show, especially Holly.  She’s been on since practically the beginning!

BROTHERS & SISTERS 1/9/11: 5.12 “Thanks For The Memories”

I was starting to get a little bored with this show…but FINALLY some things are HAPPENING!

• Wow, is Holly really LEAVING the show?!  Although there were MANY times where Holly was NOT my favorite character, I really did feel like Holly was a big part of the show.  Once the whole Rebecca storyline kinda fizzled, and Holly lost her memory, the storyline really didn’t go anywhere, but…I still can’t believe she’s LEAVING!  I’m SURE they’ll bring her back tho.  It was pretty sad to see her leave…and her apartment (which we’ve known for 5 seasons now) all empty was pretty sad too.

• So Kevin & Scotty are parents!  Should be an interesting ride for them.  This little girl seems like she’ll be a bit of a handful.  Don’t blame her for trying to “push them away” by stealing Scotty’s wallet.  Considering how much rejection she must’ve felt all her life…I’m sure it’s easier to just push away then let in.

• VERY GLAD that Kitty broke up with the “little boy.”  Didn’t really understand that relationship at all.  Would’ve MUCH rather had her with “Chase” from Army Wives.
• But what’s this about Kitty LEAVING for a little while?!  And WITHOUT telling her family?!  I mean…she brought in ROBERT’S EX to take care of EVAN (can’t believe she’s leaving HIM too!)…that’s BIG!  I guess politics REALLY is at her core.  She can’t NOT have it in her life.

• UMM…what’s up with the “home movies” Nora was watching at the end?!  So William had her FOLLOWED even BEFORE they were officially together?!  That’s a bit creepy.  But what does that MEAN?!

At least the show finally opened up some “mysteries” and started up some storylines…it’s about time!  I’ve been waiting for something to happen.  Hopefully these are GOOD storylines that WILL lead to some JUICY STUFF!

Tommy’s back next week!  And he has a NEW GIRL in his life!  Not to mention he himself looks different…skinnier?  Looks like some great FAMILY DRAMA next week…what this show does best!

BROTHERS & SISTERS 1/2/11: 5.11 “Scandalized”

• I was suprised how much they showed Justin and the nurse (Odette Yustman)…I’m guessing it’s because they’re setting up next week’s episode (they showed that he may get suspended because of a procedure he did to a patient on the job).

• I’m not too enthused about Kitty and her “young one.”  Eh.  And you can tell she’s a bit “ashamed” about his age.  She’s constantly defending him/speaking for him…poor guy.
• Kevin & Scotty:  I hope they’re going to adopt that girl!  She was so cute and sweet!

BROTHERS & SISTERS 12/12/10: 5.10 “Cold Turkey”

Another “last of 2010″ episode…

• I’m still so shocked that Nora ACTUALLY left the family for Christmas!  Wow!  That was a FIRST!
• That whole “Christmas Carol” segment was pretty crazy.  Wow.  Kinda morbid even.  That the kids would ACTUALLY try to KILL NORA.  OMG.  Crazy!  And that HOLLY was the matriarch of the family…CRAZIER!

• Kitty & Kevin’s little “Christmas competition” was pretty silly.  Kevin’s apartment was RIDICULOUS…2 TREES?!  Gotta love that disco ball!

• Wow.  Richard Chamberlain!  They sure cast some FAMOUS people for the role of Saul’s “men”…First it was Stephen Collins…now Richard.  Kinda sad to find out that he was the one who probably GAVE Saul HIV…and he doesn’t even REMEMBER it.

• So Odette (Justin’s wife in real life) is still around huh?  Kinda weird ’cause she doesn’t really have much of a part…but yet they still keep her around.

• So glad Nora came home in time!  Still don’t know what made her THINK she could even be AWAY from the kids…ESPECIALLY at a time like Christmas!

• So Kitty finds out she’s dating her BOSS’ SON.  Umm…AWKWARD and INAPPROPRIATE much?  Hmm…NOW can this relationship last?!

• Nice that it ended with the family all together.  That’s what this show is all about, after all…

 

BROTHERS & SISTERS 12/5/10: 5.09 “Get A Room”

Seems like it’s been such a long time since we had a new episode…and this episode was pretty HILARIOUS.  SUCH a silly episode…

• Can’t believe they ALL ended up at the same hotel!
• Can’t believe Kevin accidentally got HIGH!
• Can’t believe how CLUTZY Sarah was with Luc…talk about accident prone!  Looks like he won’t be around for a little while…off to China…

• Seems out of character for Kitty to “hook up” with SUCH a young guy like that…
• It’s the guy from Cougar Town (Laurie’s rich boyfriend)
• So funny how Seth ran into Nora in the elevator…and spilled all that soda on her!
• So I guess Seth is more than just a one night stand.  Hmm…do we like this guy?

• Nora & Carl…kinda cute when Carl finally admitted his insecurities about intimacy.  I think they’re sweet together.  Seems like he’ll be hanging around for a while…

BROTHERS & SISTERS 11/14/10: 5.08 “The Rhapsody of the Flesh”

Luc’s mom.  Interesting.  Very pretty.  I can see why Luc has a hard time accepting/bringing her into the family.

Thank GOODNESS Carl is smarter than we thought…that he WASN’T being charmed by Gabriella.  I like Nora & Carl together!  Wonder how long this one will last?!

And WHAT was Justin doing?!  “Shacking up” with TWO different girls who work at Scotty’s place?!  Crazy!  He really needs to find another GIRLFRIEND.  Someone stable.

BROTHERS & SISTERS 10/31/10: 5.06 “An Ideal Husband”

I still can’t believe Scotty cheated on Kevin.  They tried to give us background as to the circumstances surrounding what Scotty did…but at least for me, that doesn’t EXCUSE what he did.  Not at all.  And finding out Kevin wasn’t totally honest with Scotty wasn’t good either, but that still doesn’t justify what Scotty did.

Wonder how long Kevin & Scotty will be separated like this…

Kitty and Jack are over?  ALREADY?  That was fast!  But I guess Jack really WAS Kitty’s “transitional object.”  Kinda her rebound guy.  Oh well.  At least it ended well and mutual.

So Luc & Sarah are engaged officially now.  Don’t think I ever would’ve thought Luc would be THE ONE that Sarah ends up with.  But up ’til now he’s really been showing that he’s so devoted to her and is so loyal.  So maybe he IS the right one.

BROTHERS & SISTERS 10/24/10: 5.05 “Call Mom”

I was WAITING for Nora to just “stick it” to that other radio lady.  She was so annoying!  It was very cute tho how Kevin and Kitty called up the radio show to ask Nora for advice.  Very sweet…and it really made Nora comfortable to really show what she can offer.

I think we all knew Nora would end up getting the job…I mean, what kind of storyline would it be if she didn’t?   Seriously tho…Nora was SO MUCH better than the other lady because she talked with HEART.  That other lady was so “Hollywood” about everything.  She talked like she was ON THE RADIO.  She didn’t seem like she CARED about ANYONE.  Then when she “congratulated” Nora and then had to admit to her how she doesn’t even talk to her own kids…and Nora starting giving HER advice…that was pretty cute.

Do you think Sarah & Luc will ACTUALLY get married?  I don’t know about that one.  Altho Luc was pretty sweet when he proposed and all, I still don’t really feel like they belong together.  Luc IS very loyal and devoted to Sarah tho isn’t he?!  Which is so nice and refreshing considering how HOT Luc is…and how much YOUNGER he is than Sarah.

Aww…so Jack really DOES have a lot in common with Kitty.  Who would’ve thought he was once a successful investment banker?!  I like them together!  Hopefully this will last a little while longer.

What was up with Justin meeting that girl when he went to buy the date shake?  Is she actually SOMEONE we need to know?  Or was this just their way of showing us that Justin’s TRYING to move on?

The “shocker” of the episode – Scotty CHEATED on Kevin?!  WTH?!  Where did THAT come from?  Scotty ALWAYS seemed SO devoted to Kevin.  If ANYTHING I would’ve thought KEVIN would be the one to stray.  That was pretty surprising…and very sad.   Right when Kevin FINALLY realized that he really DOES want a family.

BROTHERS & SISTERS 10/10/10: 5.03 “Faking It”

Sarah is so silly.  To lie to Luc all this time about her age.  I guess it’s not surprising, considering he IS an underwear model and all.   Wonder how long Sarah was going to let this go on?!

Nora getting plastic surgery?!  REALLY?!  Come on!  That’s SO NOT NORA.  Pretty funny when she and Sarah were at the plastic surgeon’s office – “Kitty got the champagne glasses, but I got the jugs.” – Sarah  LOL!  Love it!

So glad that Nora quit the florist job!  Her boss was so annoying (and that lady really reminded me of Megan Mullally from Will & Grace).  Nora doesn’t need to take that!  Hopefully this means she’ll be moving on to that radio host job?

Rebecca!  It was so good to see her again!  Wow, she and Justin are ALREADY DIVORCED?!  Didn’t see that one coming.

They make like Justin & Rebecca are gonna give it another try, but they listed Emily Vancamp as a “guest star” in the credits, so we know she won’t be around much longer.   Which is very sad.  I like Rebecca!

That scene with Rebecca and Holly was just…HEARTBREAKING.  Holly REALLY seemed like she was getting better…remembering Rebecca.  Then when she said “I’m sure you’ll find your mom…”  OMG.  SO SAD!  That’s a killer.  No wonder Rebecca hasn’t been around much.  And I’m SURE that’s gonna be a contributing factor to her leaving.  Rebecca go thru that heartbreak every time she’s with Holly.  It would be hard for anyone.

I am kinda LOVING this whole Jack & Kitty (or should I say Lucy? ) thing.  Love seeing Kitty be all flustered and dorky like that.  And Jack is KINDA attractive…MUCH more attractive than Chase on Army Wives.   I thought it was hilarious when Jack was going off about all the “townies” and how they “ruin” the down home style…especially politicians  LOL!. I liked the scene when Kitty admitted everything to Jack.  It was so sweet the way he was looking at her.  I hope this relationship last a little while.  It’s great to see Kitty with someone new!  And he’s SO not the kind of guy you would think she would fall for.  Broadening her horizons…or as she says, REDEFINING HERSELF.

Things are starting to move along this season…getting more into it!

BROTHERS & SISTERS 10/3/10: 5.02 “Brief Encounter”

• I thought it was HILARIOUS that Kitty thought Nora was a lesbian!  Altho considering the “clues” she got, I could see why!
• The best line of the whole episode – “I’M NOT A LESBIAN, I’M A FLORIST!” – LOL! ”
• BTW, why wasn’t Saul at Luc’s opening with the rest of the family?  That was odd.

• So is that whole storyline about that runaway kid done now?  Not loving the Kevin/Scotty storyline right now…is it going to GO anywhere?

• Paige is getting so old!  She’s quite tall now!
• Can’t believe she DRANK like that.  It did seem like that event was a BIT too “adult” for her to begin with.
• Weird how we didn’t see Cooper at all either.  Maybe he was with his dad?

• Interesting how Holly seems to respond the most with Justin.  Kinda cute how she seems so happy to see him all the time.
• So sad that Holly doesn’t remember Rebecca, so when people tell her about her, Holly doesn’t feel ANYTHING.   Hopefully this memory loss won’t last too much longer…
• The bond with Holly & Justin reminds me of when Rebecca first met the family, and she and Justin were the only ones bonding.  Justin has some kind of “charm” that people respond to.  Maybe that’s why he’s so good with the medical/helping people field.

I saw the preview for next week and…it IS CHASE from Army Wives being brought in as a new “potential” for Kitty!  How fun!  At least it’s someone we know!  I’m looking forward to seeing him in a different role…hopefully he’ll be more likable than Chase.

BROTHERS & SISTERS 9/26/10: 5.01 “The Homecoming”

One year later…after the “tragic” accident of last season:

I liked how they started in present time, but went back a little to show you how things led up to now…

• Poor Justin…he comes back from Afghanistan and everything’s different.  One year really DOES make a difference.
• Guess they really are going to “get rid” of Rebecca…kinda sad.  After everything those two have been thru.  To break up now…
• I don’t blame Justin for feeling guilty about “leaving” Robert to tend to Holly.  But Robert DID tell Justin to go help others.  Probably what’s hard is that it was HOLLY of all people that benefited from Justin’s help.  I mean, we all don’t HATE Holly, but still…it wasn’t like it was a WALKER or anything.
• Kinda sad that  Holly lost part of her memory.  Seems like she remembers OLD stuff.  She knows who Nora IS, but doesn’t know the current relationship…she remembers William, Rebecca.  Wonder how long this will last…

• Wow, so Robert DIDN’T die in the crash.  Didn’t expect that.  A coma?  How sad.  And after a YEAR…no change.
• Kinda sad how Kitty was still “clinging” to the hope that Robert would “snap” out of it.  In a way I don’t blame her…but on the other hand…how long will you wait?
• When she blamed Justin for “leaving” Robert…and for abandoning his marriage to go off to war…that was pretty mean.

• As usual we have our signature “climax family breakdown” moment.  It wouldn’t be the Walkers if there wasn’t a very dramatic family scene.
• it’s a hard situation…as a family member, you wanna be there for Kitty…but you also want to be realistic and want Kitty to be able to move on with her life.
• Glad that Kitty realized what she needed to do…

Just some other random thoughts:

• So Nora works at a flower shop now?  And looks like she hasn’t told the family yet…
• Kevin is back “lawyer-ing”…but pro bono for kids?  So I guess he & Scottie are gonna take in that Hispanic kid?
• Evan looks SO OLD now!  He’s only supposed to be like a year older right?  He looks like he’s like 2 or 3 already!
• Sarah’s hair!  The color…and bangs!
• Glad Saul & Scottie opened up their restaurant!  Pretty cool!

Every time when this show starts up, I realize that I really do LOVE this show.  I LOVE the family aspect.  The way they all relate to each other.  They really do seem like a REAL FAMILY.  I always forget how much I miss this show until it starts up again…

This season is supposedly a decent amount shorter…only 19 episodes instead of 22.  Hopefully they make those count.  It’ll be interesting to see what happens…
