DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 4/2/12: 8.19 “With So Little To Be Sure Of”

• Poor Bree…That detective guy is totally out to get her.  Ugh.  Was he REALLY that close to Chuck?  Enough to basically FRAME Bree for something she didn’t actually do?!  Altho it doesn’t look good that her fingerprints were on the dead body…
• I’m glad Scott Bakula’s character (can’t think of his name) finally took on Bree’s case.  I think she’ll need him…

• Wow.  So Mike has a sister?!  And a sister with special needs?  Man, that came outta nowhere.  Sad to think that Susan never knew about her…

• Poor Lynette.  That must’ve KILLED her to find out that Tom signed the divorce papers.
• Jane is SO irritating.  To hand the papers to Lynette IN PERSON…Tom’s NEW GIRLFRIEND?!  Come on.  That’s just LOW.  He has GOT to get rid of her.  Glad to see them kinda fighting at the end there…There’s still hope of Lynette & Tom getting back together!

• I understand that Carlos is having a hard time with the fact that Gaby is “schmoozing” with all these single rich guys…But on the other hand, HE decided that he wanted to quit his job.  And they do NEED MONEY…

Can’t believe there’s only like 3 more eps before the series finale!  Right now sure seems like they still have a lot to tie up…

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 3/25/12: 8.18 “Any Moment”

• Great to see Andrew back!  Umm…engaged to a frozen custard heiress?!  Oh boy…Guess we shouldn’t be surprised tho huh?
• My favorite quote of the episode:  “Honey, you’re here, you’re queer…and I’m used to it.”   Gotta love Bree…she’s come a long way.
• Oh no…So at the end, when the police had the conversation between Ben & Bree bugged…Are they telling us that Ben is BETRAYING Bree?  He’s HELPING the cops?!  I thought he was on Bree’s side?  Or do you think even HE didn’t know they were listening?  Unless he had no choice, and he had to help them in order to keep himself out of jail…?

• Susan was really irritating me in the way she was handling MJ’s grief.  Altho it’s just like Susan to handle stuff like that in that way.  The kid was being SO BAD, and she was just allowing it.  Especially when he physically hurt his teacher, and she defended it?!  Come on Susan…

• How LUCKY is Gaby?!  Talk about the PERFECT job for her.  And one she’s actually really good at.  But man.  Considering how “unhire-able” she is…and this job just FALLS IN HER LAP?!  Awesome.  Altho it was cute how she actually went out there and TRIED to find a job…Even tho her expectations were totally ridiculous.

• Yes!  Baby steps…but Lynette and Tom are SLOWLY finding their way back to each other.  HOPEFULLY.  Nice that Lynette has Penny to help her too.   There’s only a few more episodes left…They GOTTA get back together before the end of this show…They just GOTTA.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 3/18/12: 8.17 “Women and Death”

Bit of a tear jerker this episode…

• This show is great about doing those touching “tribute” episodes.  I loved the one they did with Beau Bridges as the handyman who died, and now this one about Mike…
• Still sad to think that Mike, who has been on the show since the pilot episode, didn’t make it to the last episode.
• Loved how they used this episode to bring back some of the old classic characters in flashbacks — Rex, Carlos’ mom — and in scenes that we never saw before.
• It was nice that the flashbacks gave people like Gaby and Lynette clarity — Gaby is accepting the fact that Carlos needs to quit his job and give back…and that Lynette wants to fight for Tom.
• While the flashback of each of the wives was very touching and sweet, I actually didn’t “lose it” until the actual funeral scene, when Susan talked about Mike.  That was pretty tough to watch.
• Oh Bree…just when you think you’ve put the whole murder of Alejandro behind you, your rejection of Orson is bringing it all back again.  Now that they have actual proof (fingerprints on the body), how are you going to get out of this one now?

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 3/11/12: 8.16 “You Take For Granted”

Oh boy…What an episode!

• Not a big fan of Tom’s girlfriend, Jane.  She TOTALLY should NOT have told Lynette about moving in.  Not her place.  And the whole picture book with Penny…A bit much.
• Moving in together?!  Seriously Tom?!  You’re NOT even officially DIVORCED yet!  Come on man!  At least respect Lynette enough to be SEPARATED first.  I thought that was pretty bad.  Poor Lynette.

• Carlos always goes through these phases where he gets these “epiphanies” and wants to change his lifestyle (like when he became all religious).  It’s a great thought…but he HAD to know how Gaby would react to it.  The bottom line is Gaby will always be a bit selfish.

• Karen and her “dying with dignity” plan…So sad.  Can’t believe she actually LIED down under Bree’s car!  OMG!  Glad that Bree & Roy convinced her NOT to go through with it.

• Now the big one — MIKE!!!  *sob*  While this whole time he’s been on the show, we always knew he was a GOOD GUY…and once again he was the hero and tried to save/protect Renee & Ben…and it ended up being his undoing.   And the way he died/got killed…right in FRONT of Susan!  He didn’t have a chance!  I guess they really had to “spice up” the show in its last bunch of episodes, but…Mike?!  He was there from EPISODE 1.  Sad to think he won’t be there for the LAST episode.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 1/22/12: 8.12 “What’s The Good of Being Good?”

• Thank GOODNESS Gaby told Alejandro’s wife the truth!  And that the stepdaughter told her as well!  Poor things.  Where is this part of the storyline going to go now tho?
• Bree and her “promiscuous” lifestyle right now…WTH?!  It’s the alcohol talking, I know…but still.  Altho it was nice to see Cameron Mathison (All My Children) as one of her “boy toys.”  Hmm…but the way Bree’s acting she’s going to get herself into some trouble soon, I’m sure.  She better watch out.  That was A LOT of guys in one episode.
• Lynette getting back into the dating game…Should be interesting.
• OK Ben.  Gotta give you credit.  You proposed to Renee JUST for her money…but when she admitted how she REALLY had feelings for him and how great of a guy he is…glad to see he had morals and feelings about it and revealed the truth to her.  Poor thing.  Even tho Ben and Renee ended things, it may have been too late.  The thug he’s dealing with knows that Renee has a lot of money.  She (and Ben) better watch out!  That’s gonna suck if Renee gets put into danger because of Ben!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 1/15/12: 8.11 “Who Can Say What’s True?”

Just some quick thoughts about this week’s episode:

• NOT loving the fact that Ben knows just HOW rich Renee is now.  He totally is just wooing her now for her money!  While Renee is quite superficial and shallow a lot of the time, in recent weeks she’s shown so much more heart that I’m sad that she’s being “played” now.   I hope she figures out what’s happening before she gives him all of her money!
• I always enjoy watching Bree when she acts totally out of character!  It’s quite entertaining!  When she had to run off naked…LOL!  Can’t believe the next ep she’s going to be acting all trampy and stuff!
• Gotta give Gaby credit.  She was actually pulling off that meeting with Carlos’ client…Even tho she knew NOTHING about what she was saying!  Not bad!
• Sad seeing Lynette trying to make it without Tom.  I’m still hoping for them to get back together.
• Susan going to visit Alejandro’s family probably was what she needed.  Felt SO sorry for the stepdaughter…she was a victim like Gaby!  At least we know he won’t be able to hurt her anymore!  But uh oh…the girl told her mom about Susan…I think this visit is opening another can of worms… :-/
• The big question is — WHO IS THAT MAN WATCHING BREE?!  I think we can assume it IS a man, right?  Sure looks like one.  Do we think it’s some we already KNOW, or someone new?  I think it’s someone we KNOW.  That would make it more interesting because we’ll be more invested when we find out who it is.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 1/8/12: 8.10 “What’s to Discuss, Old Friend”

Nice to have the show back!

• I like the “friendship” between Renee & Bree.  Very cute how Renee moved in with Bree to “watch over her” after finding out she almost killed herself.
• So sad to hear that Renee’s mom committed suicide. That’s probably the most we’ve found out about Renee’s history (other than her divorce).
• Tom…Why did he tell Bob about the murder?!  Geez!  That was fast!  Mike already knows too…and with Renee living with Bree, it won’t be long before she finds out!  This secret really isn’t much of a secret anymore!
• Man, they better bring Tom & Lynette back together before the show ends!  They had some sweet moments this week.  So I guess Tom & his girlfriend aren’t broken up yet?  I’m amazed considering how pissed she was when he didn’t go to Paris with her.
• At least we know Carlos didn’t run Chuck over…He had an alibi.  Altho his alibi sure was scary — went to the police office while he was drunk!  Geez!
• Susan going to find/see Alejandro’s family in Oklahoma?!  Isn’t that just going to open a can of worms?!  Wait ’til Gaby finds out about that…!
• That ending was AWESOME — “You’re Welcome” — So the same person who wrote the first card also killed Chuck!  WHO COULD IT BE?!  Do you think it’s someone WE KNOW?!  I’m thinking it has to be.  Maybe it’s someone from the show’s PAST…like maybe even someone from an earlier season?

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 11/13/11: 8.08 “Suspicion Song”

• Oh boy…talk about a visual confession!  The one time Susan’s artwork is actually LOVED and ADORED too!  So funny when she got to the gallery and was trying to take the painting down.  LOL!
• Umm…Chuck is a PSYCHO!  He’s SO creepy!  Every where Bree turns, HE’S THERE!  And HELLO…he basically already SOLVED the mystery about Gaby’s stepdad!  Only a matter of time before he gets proof.  Now how are the ladies going to get out of this one?!

• How lucky was Carlos that his client was also a previous substance abuser?  The guy was so nice, trying to get Carlos to go to rehab.  By the looks of it (since he dumped the bottle of alcohol in the sink), seems like Carlos will be getting help.  Let’s hope so!

• I felt SO BAD for Lynette.  The worst part was after Tom realized he forgot to cancel the standing order of flowers, and his reaction to that was It will NEVER happen again.  He didn’t even acknowledge their anniversary.    I REALLY hope that by the time the season ends, these two will be back together!  After all these years…not to mention FIVE KIDS…I can’t imagine this show ending withOUT Tom & Lynette back together!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 10/9/11: 8.03 “Watch While I Revise The World”

• I think that Carlos & Susan’s friendship is actually pretty cute.  The ladies usually don’t have TOO much interaction with the husbands OTHER than their own.  The secrecy tho was kinda lame.  They should’ve just been more upfront & honest at first, especially with Mike.  ESPECIALLY when they jumped into that van to avoid Mike seeing them as he drove by…that was RIDICULOUS!  So dumb!  SO GLAD they finally ended up telling Mike the truth.  Now what he’s going to DO with this piece of information is still unsure…
• Bree & Chuck are over!  Finally!  I did feel a little bad for Chuck at first because he was about to propose, and Bree breaks up with him instead.  But then when he OVERREACTED to the breakup…I was over him.  He needs to get over it…and over Bree.  They weren’t even together THAT long!  Come on guy.
• So we still don’t know who wrote that note to Bree…but I’m quite sure it’s NOT Chuck.  Kinda cool that they brought back Paul Young into the story.
• Still thinking the storylines with Renee and Lee are just…UNNECESSARY.  But I guess you gotta give them SOMETHING.  Altho I guess it was a cute comic relief.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 9/25/11: 8.01 “Secrets That I Never Want To Know”

Kinda sad to have to say it’s the last season of Desperate Housewives…

I thought it was a good first episode of the season!  They really did kind of set up the whole season…

• I don’t know HOW these ladies are going to live with this secret for the whole season!  Already it’s bothering them all…
• I did feel bad for Susan…I agree with her because she really DIDN’T have a choice about this whole “keeping the secret” thing.  Bree was the one who decided that they would help Gaby & Carlos keep the secret that he killed Gaby’s stepdad.  So the other ladies pretty much just had to go along with the whole thing…No wonder Susan is having such a hard time with this.
• Oh boy…If the secret is THIS hard on him already, how much longer can Carlos last?  Talking to the father didn’t help either.  That just basically made him realize that what’s he’s doing is WRONG by keeping this secret.  It’s REALLY gonna get to him…probably sooner rather than later.
• I KNOW last season was REALLY hard for Tom & Lynette, but watching them this season, it’s kind of like…JUST GET BACK TOGETHER.  Who’s guest house/loft is Tom staying at again?  Don’t remember…
• The scene with Susan and burying the school hamster was HILARIOUS.  Also the scene with Bree & Gaby in her stepdad’s car when Chuck pulls them over, then ends up driving the car for them.  Chewing tobacco Gaby?!  Really?!   LOL!
• Umm…Renee’s short little bit in this episode was funny, but I hope she’ll actually have a storyline this season…and the new guy on the lane?  Wonder what part he’ll have…He would be a lot better looking withOUT the facial hair.

OK…the best part was DEFINITELY the end.  I KNOW WHAT YOU DID.  IT MAKES ME SICK.  I’M GOING TO TELL.  OMG…HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!  Full circle!  LOVE IT!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES: Last Season!

Rumors were swirling about whether or not the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives was going to be its last.

Well…it’s OFFICIAL.  This upcoming Season 8 WILL BE THE LAST SEASON.  ABC executives have confirmed it: “It’s an iconic show and we’re extremely proud of it,” said ABC President Paul Lee. “I just wanted to make sure it had its victory lap.”

According to creator Marc Cherry:  “I wanted to go out when the network still saw us as a viable show and a force to contend with,” he told reporters. “We felt from a creative standpoint that this was the right time. I feel so good about it.”

Having watched it from Season 1, I will definitely miss it…but I guess it’s not a surprise.  The show had a great run…and it lasted a lot longer than I think most people thought it would.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 5/15/11: 2.21/2.22 Season Finale

Just a few thoughts about these last two episodes of the season:

• I’m quite sad about Lynette & Tom.  At LEAST they TRIED to make an effort to talk things through.  But out of EVERYONE ever on this show/currently on this show, Tom & Lynette were the ONE couple that seemed to be SOLID AS A ROCK…where no matter what bumps in the road they come to, they always end up tackling everything TOGETHER.  Now?  I have NO IDEA if they can survive THIS bump.  Plus I’m wondering if something’s gonna happen between Tom & Renee now that Tom’s a BIT of a free man…
• Yay!  Susan’s back on Wisteria Lane!  About time!  Must’ve been so hard for her (and Teri Hatcher) NOT be part of “the group” for the whole season!  Was pretty funny when Susan was SO EXCITED to tell all the girls she was back…but they were all too busy with their own problems to really welcome her back.
• Interesting to make you think that Bree’s new guy is gay.  The scene in the gay bar was pretty funny.  The stuff with Bree & Renee at Chuck’s wife’s store was pretty silly.  Altho I was QUITE entertained to see Bree all “dolled up” in those tacky clothes.   SO “Un-Bree like.”  Wonder how long this relationship will last?
• So Felicia is dead right?  She basically killed HERSELF in the end.  She was ONE PSYCHO LADY.  Glad that Paul came through to get Susan off the hook for trying to poison him.  I do agree with Susan…I think Paul DEEP DOWN is a GOOD PERSON.  He just needs to find his way back to that person.  All these years he’s HAD to do some pretty BAD things, so it’s gonna be hard for him to get over what he’s done.

• OK, Gaby’s storyline with her stepfather?  Altho there was that one episode quite a while ago where she talks about her secret/story about being abused by him, but a BIT random bringing him ONLY NOW.
• *STAR SIGHTING* – Hey!  It’s Betty’s dad from Ugly Betty as Gaby’s stepdad!  Cool!  Altho this character is a FAR CRY from the one he played on Betty.
• Umm…Gaby’s stepdad DESERVED to die.  Just didn’t expect that CARLOS would be the one who ends up (unintenionally) killing him.  Interesting ending…to have CARLOS PLUS ALL THE LADIES have this secret they need to hide.  This is a first.  Usually, someone is BROUGHT IN who has a secret and we have to figure out what that secret is.  Now the tables are turned.  We KNOW what the secret is…now it’s just a matter of KEEPING THE SECRET.

Kinda wondering how long this storyline can really last next season tho.  I mean, how much can they write about this secret…really… Doesn’t seem like much to work from.  But you never know…

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 5/8/11: 7.21 “Then I Really Got Scared”

• Umm…WHO was that hooded man who was outside the tent with Gaby & Juanita?!  Creepy man!  Are we supposed to recognize him?  Is he someone we’re supposed to already know?  I didn’t recognize him.
• Do we like Chuck the police officer who likes Bree?  Altho he’s pretty arrogant, I kinda like him.  He keeps Bree on her toes and they have a great banter.  Plus he’s a LOT better than “young one” Keith…at least he’s more her age.
• Hmm…I wonder how long Lynette & Tom can last?  Now that he’s so successful, it’s definitely going to his head a little.  On the other hand, he’s never had the “upper hand” in the marriage like this before.  Lynette has ALWAYS been the boss, so I can see where she feels really threatened.  Plus she’s not exactly thriving in her job right now, so of COURSE she’s not gonna wanna just let Tom take all the glory.  But they’re gonna have to find a way to make it work.
• Poor Penny.  No kid wants to see her parents fight like that…especially the names they were calling each other!
• Come on  Paul…altho Susan seems to be the OBVIOUS choice for the person who’s poisoning him…I think he’s known Susan long enough where she really DOESN’T have THAT malicious of a mind to do something like that to him!  Why doesn’t FELICIA come into mind AT ALL?!  She may be playing nice right now, but seriously…knowing how PSYCHO she was, no WAY she could just TURN AROUND just like THAT!  Be smart Paul!

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES 4/24/11: 7.19 “The Lies Ill-Concealed”

• I was quite enjoying all the “scandalous” stuff with Gaby & Bree.  Pretty silly but quite entertaining.  I understand why Carlos is so mad at Bree…but to forbid Gaby from seeing her…that’s just not gonna fly.  It’s kinda cute how much Gaby’s friendship with Bree means to her.  That she ended up choosing Bree at the end instead of Carlos…Wow!
• Susan’s sex dreams about Paul were kinda freaking me out.  He obviously SEEMS like a different guy now, but…that’s just WRONG.   It does seem like the tables have turned, and Paul is one of the “good guys” now…and Felicia Tilman is definitely the “bad guy.”
• Felicia has got Karen McClusky wrapped around her finger, doesn’t she?  Karen better watch out tho…be careful NOT to get on Felicia’s bad side…otherwise she’s a goner!  That Felicia is SUCH a psycho…but she makes for good TV.
• Lynette’s whole fiasco at the conference was pretty lame.  Altho I understand her frustration at not being able to attend any of the lectures.  Just because you’re married to a successful businessman…does that automatically mean all you can do is flower arranging and drink all the time?!  How degrading is THAT?!
