OK, this is my dilemma this season:

…or MELANIE?!
To be honest, I DO know who I’d choose…MELANIE! She really is just AMAZING. Sasha is awesome as well tho…she really gets down and deep. But something about Melanie…whenever she dances I’m just fixated on her…she really sucks you in.
MELANIE FTW! 
Top 10! First week where the contestants dance with the SYTYCD All-Stars! Plus…Neil Patrick Harris as the guest judge! Great night!
Here are a couple of my favorites from this week:
MARKO & CHELSIE – Samba:
Umm…LOVE Chelsie Hightower! Love watching her dance…especially stuff like this! Pretty hot samba! And Marko…so great! Love him! He totally kept up with Chelsie, which is a tough thing to do ’cause she’s so awesome with these ballroom dances!
MELANIE & PASHA – Viennese Waltz:
There’s just something about Melanie…she is SUCH a beautiful dancer! Love watching her! The dance was so smooth and flowy! And her dress was so pretty!
CLARICE & ROBERT – Bollywood:
I love Bollywood routines. So happy and fun to watch! So colorful! Normally don’t care for Clarice…or maybe it was just because she was with Jess. 
But she was cute this week! Doesn’t hurt that she was matched up with Robert, who I love!
I only have one word to summarize tonight’s best performances: NAPPYTABS
Both of NappyTabs’ hip hop routines were AMAZING!
MELANIE & MARKO:
Marko may just be my new favorite guy! The emotion he showed in his routine was just awesome. It’s something about using a Leona Lewis song…First it was the Bleeding Love performance by Mark & Chelsie in Season 4…now this one. I thought it was just PERFECTION. I was crying watching it. SO GOOD. Mel & Marko really make the PERFECT COUPLE:
Oh, and having Kristin Chenoweth on tonight was so great! LOVE HER! And that whole kissing fest after this number was hilarious! Nigel kissing Mary…then Kristin kissing Lil’ C! Woohoo!
JORDAN & TADD:
The 2nd NappyTabs routine I’m mainly posting for two things: Props & Tadd. Umm…the whole concept of the bed and the clothes was pretty cool! And gotta say…Tadd without his shirt was QUITE enjoyable. 
Those are the only ones I really need to post from tonight.
2nd week with the Top 20.
Here are my favorites of the night:
JORDAN & TADD Viennese Waltz:
First of all…NEW DAVID COOK SONG! Awesome! That alone made me pay even MORE attention to the number! Jordan & Tadd make a great couple. Umm…Tadd is a b-boy?! He was SO GOOD at ballroom! Gosh! I’m impressed!
MELANIE & MARKO Jazz:
Another great pairing. I have to say tho, that I really love watching Melanie dance. She’s just awesome.
SASHA & ALEXANDER Hip Hop:
NappyTabs! They are just SO GREAT at doing these emotional hip hop numbers! It’s like another Bleeding Love (Mark & Chelsie) or No Air (Josh & Katee) piece! Sasha is an AWESOME dancer. It was very affective. Made you feel A LOT. Plus the fact that it was about the war/military makes it even MORE meaningful to people.
ASHLEY & CHRIS Broadway:
Wow! Talk about CREATIVE! The prison bars prop was PRETTY AWESOME. So unique! I liked Ashley and Chris last week…and this week I liked them even MORE! Ashley is so cute…and Chris is REALLY CUTE. He may just be my favorite guy right now. AND to think he’s actually a B-BOY?! A b-boy doing BROADWAY?! Amazing! Loved it!
Throughout the whole finale episode of So You Think You Can Dance, Cat has been teasing about a VERY SPECIAL guest performer…
Well, it turns out it was Ellen DeGeneres!
It was actually a pretty cool thing that Ellen did. Because Alex Wong got injured midway thru the season, Ellen took his place in a very memorable hip hop number that Alex had done with Twitch.

Ellen did a great job with the choreography, considering how fast and hard it was. For obvious reasons, NappyTabs “dumbed” down a bunch of the moves that Alex did, and added a bit more comedy, which was perfect for Ellen.
It was such an entertaining performance! Great job Ellen!
Well, it wasn’t surprising who ended up being the Top 2:
I think Lauren & Kent were the fan favorites from WAY back at the beginning of the season. It’s cute for them because they’re the same age and have both kinda “grown up” together on the show. Only fitting they be the last two standing.
Too bad Robert couldn’t have made it to the Top 2. But considering what a rough road he’s had all season (being the bottom MANY times), it was a major accomplishment to make it to the Top 3.
I’m really happy for Lauren. When you think about ALL the contestants, she really does deserve it. She was the most consistent, and she really could dance ANYTHING. Makes sense that “America’s Favorite Dancer” is the one who really CAN dance EVERYTHING.
Now we gotta keep our eye out for Lauren…Who knows, maybe she’ll follow in previous SYTYCD alumni (Courtney, Katee, Comfort, Lauren, Brandon) and get some dance gigs on Glee!

Well, the day is finally here…”America’s Favorite Dancer” will be crowned tonight! Now the question is – Who IS America’s favorite dancer?

I think this season is probably the CLOSEST race this show has had. Honestly, ANY of the Top 3 could take it.
KENT: Kent is the one who I would say has grown THE MOST over this season. He started out as being such a naive little “country boy,” and he really has matured and become a REAL DANCER now. I still feel he’s a bit “immature” in a lot of ways tho…so I don’t know if I’d pick him as my favorite. But he really seems like a great guy, and he definitely appeals to people.
LAUREN: Lauren is the most WELL-ROUNDED of the three, imo. She really seems like she could dance ANYTHING. Not to mention she’s such a cute girl and has a great attitude. She’s always been my favorite girl this season, so I’m glad she’s in the finale. Totally deserving.
ROBERT: Robert has had the HARDEST road to get to the finale. He’s been in the Bottom MANY times this season. Never understood WHY he ever was really…but I guess it took a while for America to warm up to him. I’ve always loved watching Robert dance…and I love his personality. He seems so fun to be around. He really listens to the critiques by the judges and takes it to heart. Umm…and he’s a GREAT LOOKING guy. So handsome.
I honestly would be happy if ANY of them win, but I guess my sentimental favorite would be ROBERT. I really like him and it would be so awesome if America agrees. I have a feeling it’s going to be either Kent or Lauren tho.
We shall see tonight…

I haven’t been blogging about the season much, but I have to say I was VERY HAPPY with tonight’s results. I have NEVER really been a fan of Adechike’s for some reason. I don’t think he’s technically as good as the other three, but I also felt that he had a bit of an attitude. I will say I CRIED during his personal background piece on last night’s performance show tho. The “obstacles” he’s had to overcome…considering where he grew up…I give him a lot of credit for that. BUT I still feel that America TOTALLY made the RIGHT decision by having Adechike booted out tonight.

)…and the fact that he’s NICE TO LOOK AT doesn’t hurt either. I love his personality too…he seems so fun and is like “quirky cute.” I still can’t believe people thought he was ARROGANT! Umm…WHAT?! Are we watching the same guy?! I felt so bad for him that he was in the bottom a few times at the beginning…when he was one of the BEST dancers there! SO HAPPY that he made it to the finals!I’m thinking this final is going to be VERY CLOSE! Any of them could take the crown…should be a GREAT SHOW!

PREDICTION:
This week’s kind of a no brainer for me. I’m gonna have to say that I think MELINDA’S time is up. Her latin dance she did tonight really was awkward, even tho you could tell she was really trying. It was a bit mean of Mia to say she felt they made a mistake in keeping Melinda over Cristina last week, but…I can see why she said it. Altho I hate to see yet ANOTHER GIRL leave the competition, I think it’s inevitable…unless in some miracle Melinda doesn’t end up in the B3. Which I highly doubt.
Sorry I didn’t get to blog about this week’s performances…I was a bit behind on that episode. I thought I’d just write a little about this week’s results.
Unfortunately for Cristina, the show isn’t ONLY about technical ability. While Cristina definitely was a great latin dancer, I always felt like she was missing some likability there…not where she’s UNlikable, but she just didn’t quite have that EXTRA thing to latch on to. Obviously America felt the same way.
I was REALLY SHOCKED that Robert was in the Bottom 3! I thought with his personality and his good looks, he’d be safe for a while…guess I shouldn’t ASSUME anything! At least the judges see what I see and couldn’t get rid of him yet. Although with the guys that are there this season, it’s TOUGH COMPETITION, so I can see where people like Robert COULD fall thru the cracks. I really may have to vote next week…he’s my FAVORITE GUY! Come on America!
Gosh…2 girls gone already…only 3 girls left…but still 6 GUYS left! A bit UNEVEN, wouldn’t you say?
*Just a thought about why the guys seem to be thriving a bit more than the girls – I think it has A LOT to do with the all-stars. All the all-star GIRLS they have are AWESOME…Courtney, Allison, Kathryn…even Lauren. Those girls are just AMAZING in EVERY performance they do – they totally shine – which totally BRINGS UP the level of performance in their guy partner. The all-star guys AREN’T slouches by any means, but…somehow they’re just not as SPARKLY and ARTISTIC as those girls.
Just my opinion.
The competition has begun! We finally get to see each of the finalists perform for REAL! Here we go…
BILLY (and Lauren): I wasn’t as impressed with Billy as I thought I’d be. Probably because he had to dance Broadway, which isn’t AT ALL his thing. Definitely didn’t help that he was paired with Lauren (my LEAST favorite all-star). Billy’s quite cute tho, and has a cute personality. Hopefully he gets a better genre (and partner) next week!
CRISTINA (and Mark): Doing a Sonja number…talk about the PERFECT FIT for Mark! If anything, Mark being so “in his element” only ELEVATED Cristina’s game. I wasn’t as impressed with her as the judges were. Of course, who am I to know what good dancing is anyway?
JOSE (and Comfort): How lucky was Jose to get hip hop as his first routine? I KNOW hip hop and break dancing are DIFFERENT, but hip hop is the closest thing to what he usually does. I really like Jose. You can tell he’s really trying and he seems like a really good guy. And that smile…oh boy! Makes him seem very sweet…which as they say will only help him get votes. I’m interested to see him do an ACTUAL ballroom or latin number now…
BTW, NappyTabs seem to like Ne-Yo’s music. They used”Closer” the other season, and now “Beautiful Monster”…
ADECHIKE (and Kathryn): Kathryn is the only all-star that I don’t know/remember. She’s a great dancer tho. She was great in this number. Poor Ade tho…first guy to kinda get creamed by the judges. I’m sure he can improve…assuming he doesn’t get booted! He took the criticism well tho…seems like a nice guy.
MELINDA (and Pasha): The judges are right. Melinda is a great PERFORMER/ACTRESS. She’s a bit over the top tho. Her facial expressions especially. She’s a very pretty girl tho. She’s definitely got a look. Considering she’s normally a tap dancer tho, it’s cool that she can even attempt to do other styles. Of course, having to keep up with Pasha (who btw looks a LOT better than when he was a contestant on the show) isn’t the easiest thing in the world. Based on the audience’s cheers, Melinda doesn’t seem to be the most popular, unfortunately. Hopefully she can pull thru.
ALEX (and Allison): Wow. Couldn’t believe how much PRAISE Alex got from the judges. This particular piece definitely gave Alex something to work from…and Allison was just awesome (she DEFINITELY added to why the performance was so good). But to say that this was THE BEST performance EVER in the history of the show…Wow. He’s definitely one of the strongest guys, for sure. And he’s so humble and grateful, which is nice. I wanna see him do something OTHER than contemporary now…
ALEXIE (and Twitch): Alexie is so gosh darn cute! But I can see what the judges are saying…she’s TOO cute. She’s gotta get “down and dirty” a little. To be honest, the cuteness will help her with votes, but if the judges keep telling her she’s too cute, it will definitely start to rub off on America. So Alexie’s gotta find that good balance between cute and “serious” if she wants to stay in the competition.
LAUREN (and Ade): Lauren seemed to be the one most affected by the judges’ criticism. She’s a great dancer…but maybe her age is keeping her from getting to that level that the judges want? Interesting how Adam brought up how he thought she wasn’t LISTENING to what they were saying. Maybe it’s not soaking in. I like Lauren tho…she’s cute. Obviously Nigel thinks she’s got a strong fanbase since he didn’t think she’d be in danger…
KENT (and Anya): Kent is just…hilarious. The guy is so “fresh from the farm”…kinda like the Kellie Pickler of SYTYD! And of all people to be matched up with his first week…Anya! She’s just SO GOOD (I have to say she may be better than my other favorite ballroom girl, Chelsie) and it really seemed like the PRO dancing with the AMATEUR. It was quite entertaining to watch, altho I really felt that Kent’s movements weren’t QUITE masculine enough. But that may be because he was just so IN AWE of Anya. It was cute tho…and Kent’s so likable right now (I just hope he doesn’t play it up too much like Kellie did on AI).
ASHLEY (and Neil): Ashley is a great dancer…and once again, the routine called for emotion and pretty much was emotional in itself. Oh, and I LOVE Neil, so that helped. How sweet when Nigel asked if she’s ever been in love…”As a matter of face, I think I am…“ Aww! She has potential…we’ll just have to see how popular she is with America. I wouldn’t necessarily remember Ashley among everyone else, for some reason.
ROBERT (and Courtney): I have to say right now, Robert is my favorite. I think he’s SO interesting…he’s kinda quirky (that whole pawing back and forth with Mia was pretty funny) but yet passionate. Umm, he’s also really good looking. At least in my opinion. Loved the whole African theme. Being with Courtney (who I LOVE) definitely HELPED and upped Robert’s performance. He’s one to watch, I think. Looking forward to see what he does next…
PREDICTIONS:
Not sure how they do it, but if there’s a B3, my prediction would be – Melinda, Cristina and Adechike – with Melinda going home.
Not sure if you’ve heard…but the upcoming season of So You Think You Can Dance includes some DRASTIC changes. This time around, the show will be bringing back former finalists from previous seasons to be paired up with the contestants to perform each week. Kind of a Dancing with the Stars angle, I guess. Also only ONE person will be eliminated each week, rather than the 1 boy/1 girl method done previously. So in general there will be a much SMALLER amount of contestants competing this season.

Mia did an exclusive interview with People about her decision to leave the show.
I’m really sad. I always looked forward to seeing Mia’s routines. The dancers all WAIT to work with Mia. Can’t believe we won’t be seeing routines like “The Bench,” “Dance with my Father,” “The Bed,” “The Door”…:-(
It has been announced that from this current season of So You Think You Can Dance, ADAM SHANKMAN is now going to be the 3rd permanent judge on the show, alongside Mary Murphy & Nigel Lythgoe.
I like Adam a lot…but I’m guessing this means there won’t be weekly guest judges anymore. I’m sad about that…I liked seeing a different choreographer every week! 
Fall season’s new FOX Wednesday lineup starts tonight, including this seasons’ best new show! If there’s ONE new show you should check out, it’s GLEE! So You Think You Can Dance will be starting it’s 6th season tonight as well! Great night of TV!
