THE AMAZING RACE 9/26/10: 17.01 – Leg #1 *UPDATED with VIDEO

Another season of one of my favorite competition reality shows has begun!

Just some quick comments:

  • I am AMAZED at how DUMB a LOT of these teams (Chad & Steph/Nick & Vicki especially) are!  It was so annoying…and sad really.

My favorite teams:

Connor & Jonathan

TEAM GLEE! Connor and Jonathan (aka Harry Potter :) )…they’re cute dorky guys who seems to be pretty likable so far.

Kat & Nat

TEAM DOC/KATNAT! 2 doctors?!  Nice!  I like them so far…they seem to make a great team and so far are doing pretty good.  Plus the fact that one of them has Diabetes!  What a trooper!

Michael & Kevin

TEAM YOUTUBE!  This father/son team is pretty entertaining to watch.  The dad is so funny…he really SEEMS SO FOB-ish doesn’t he?!  The son is pretty cute…how old is he?!  He looks like he’s in high school still!  It’s cute how the dad said the best part of the race so far was when his son was being so supportive and motivating.  Aww!

Andie & Jenna

TEAM ANCESTRY! Wow…finding each other after all this time!  That’s a pretty crazy story.  Very touching…is this the right relationship to be doing The Amazing Race tho?  I don’t know.  They had a pretty rough start so far…but I’m hoping they can do well.  If anything, they’ll really get to know each other after this…

Oh, and I HAVE to talk about that crazy WATERMELON incident with Claire.  I actually already saw the clip of that watermelon EXPLODING in Claire’s face online a bunch of times before this episode aired.  But even tho I saw it HOW MANY times…seeing it again tonight was like seeing it for the FIRST TIME.  Just can’t get over how HARD that watermelon HIT HER IN THE FACE.  That was RIDICULOUS.  I’m surprised she didn’t break her nose!  Must’ve been SO HARD to finish that task after that.  But SHE DID IT.  Man.

Here’s the video…BE WARNED, it’s CRAZY!

As usual, I’m sure it’ll be a great race!

THE AMAZING RACE 2/21/10: 16.02 – Jody & Shannon

  • Aww man!  The grandma/granddaughter out!  I’m SO SAD! You know that I was rooting for them…
  • It was SO SWEET to hear Jody talk about her relationship with Shannon…you could tell she’s just so proud of her granddaughter! :-)   AWW!
  • It was hard for them to make up all the time…they were constantly in last place.  But it was cute how they really just did their thing, didn’t play dirty, didn’t argue…they were just enjoying the experience!
  • I’m starting to like the cowboys a bit more now.  Yes, they’re pretty naive and come across really “YELLOW,” but…they’ve actually been playing the game pretty well.
  • Umm…Jordan…HOW do you spell Jose again?!  H-O-S-E was it?!  GIVE ME A BREAK…
  • What the heck kind of headband was Caite wearing?!  I think she wore that last week too?  It looks RIDICULOUS!  She wonders why people (ahem…the lesbians) make fun of her?  She wants people to take her seriously?!  Not with that thing on her head…
  • DETOUR:  Like most of the teams, I totally would’ve picked the llama task as well.  Man…Joe really got creamed by that llama…first he got spit on the face, then kicked in the leg!  How in the world did the cowboys have their llama eating out of the palm of their hand (LITERALLY)?!  That was pretty cool.  The condor task was pretty lame…I thought they would have to keep jumping off the dock until they hit the buoy.  I guess not.
  • ROADBLOCK:  Oh man…those cows were brutal!  Especially when that one kicked Grandma Jody!  That was a killer!  Even Monique got blasted pretty good too!
  • The fact that Joe/Heidi and Carol/Brandy are allied…umm…didn’t like when Joe let the lesbians cut in front of everyone to buy those bus tix.  That was pretty bad.  We’ll see if their choice to ally themselves will benefit them in the long run…
  • I don’t like the policemen at all.  They irritate me.  They’re always bragging about how good they are, but they’re always in the back of the pack!  Weren’t they the ones who said that they were going to “win every leg”?!  More like BARELY make it thru each leg.

THE AMAZING RACE 2/14/10: 16.01 Season Premiere

Another season of The Amazing Race has begun!  Lemme first just say…WHEN are they going to start showing/filming this show in HD?!  Considering they travel all over the world and have SO MANY scenic shots…HD would b awesome!  I’m just saying… ;-)

So far, no real standouts as far as favorites go.  Right now, I”d probably say I like:

STEVE & ALLIE:  Umm, just have to say that Allie looks JUST like Shenae Grimes from 90210 (Annie).  She REALLY does.  They’re a cute team.  When they were trying to find that house to paint red, and ended up painting some random guy’s inside walls…OMG!  That was a perfect example of how the language barrier really makes it difficult. :-)   Poor guy!  He got a free, but totally UNWANTED and UNAPPROVED paint job!

JODY & SHANNON: Obviously I’m going to root for the grandma/granddaughter team!  How awesome is Jody?!  A triathlete at 71 years old!  She was totally speeding by that police officer team when they were running thru Los Angeles!  They are currently in last place, so I’m hoping they can pick things up and get some better luck in the next leg…they deserve a shot!

Just some other observations about some other teams:

JET & CORD: Not to sound stereotypical, but why do all cowboys have the same kind of accent/look alike?!  These Oklahoma guys pretty much epitomize what you would think cowboys are like.  When they exchanged their US dollars for Brazilian money instead of Chilean money…!  How come they didn’t specifically tell the teller Chile?!  Poor guys!  But surprisingly, considering they didn’t really start off on the right foot, they sure jumped towards the head of the pack by the pit stop!  Not bad!

BRENT & CAITE: How can I NOT mention Caite?!  Miss “people don’t have maps” pageant girl.  Oh man, when they re-showed her clip from the pageant and her answer…OMG.  It all came back.  And Caite now on this show is NOT giving pageant girls a good name.  She’s still so ditzy and the things she says…”Let’s go real fast!”  What are you…5 years old?!  And why does her face look different compared to back when she was competing in the pageant?  More makeup then?  She looks very different, imo.  I can’t believe we have to sit thru her little comments for this whole race…

Oh, and their stupid little mistake of not taking the required transportation down the hill and walking it instead…30 minutes for that!  They went from 2nd place all the way down to 7th in just 30 min!  How sucky for them!  Next time…READ THE CLUE and FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!

I will say that roadblock was pretty tough!  I mean…the length of a FOOTBALL FIELD!  That’s gosh darn FAR to be hanging on/balancing across tiny little wires like that!  I don’t blame them for having a tough time…

DANA & ADRIAN: The first team to be eliminated…poor thing!  I felt bad for Adrian…he had such a hard time on that roadblock.  At least he gave it a 2nd try!  The loss was a hard one tho ’cause to be eliminated because you couldn’t complete a task…sucks.  But at least he gave it his best shot.

THE AMAZING RACE: Finale 12/6/09

VIVA Las Vegas!  First time they’ve done a finale leg in Las Vegas!  We were JUST there! :-)

  • Poor Brian & Ericka!  They started out SO WELL!  Guess it was too good to be true that they could keep that lead up.  Boy did Ericka get FLUSTERED once they started to lose their lead.  They shouldn’t have switched roles on the Cirque du Soleil task.  That wasted the most time for them.  Ericka just had to not let the other teams psych her out.  But her personality just did her in.  She got SO FRUSTRATED SO FAST with that one.

  • YES!  I was SO glad Sam & Dan didn’t get the $1 million chip task on the first try!
  • While they were doing the task…I couldn’t STAND Dan grumbling about everything.  I was getting SO tired of hearing his voice!  ARGH!!!

  • YAY!  MEGHAN & CHEYNE!  Out of the Final 3, they were the team I felt deserved it the most.
  • I’m glad Cheyne FINALLY did a roadblock…After how many legs of Meghan basically “running the show,” it was nice that he stepped up and did the scaling of the Mandalay Bay.  Altho him closing his eyes the whole time was pretty funny!  I seriously think he could’ve done it a LOT faster if he opened his eyes so he could SEE where he was going/how close he was to the bottom.

I was surprised the show didn’t make them do a “how much do you remember” tasks this season.  That’s usually the make it/break it task.  It’s usually much more dramatic that way too.  Oh well.  Overall, this season was just EH.  Not super dramatic or exciting at all really.

THE AMAZING RACE 11/29/09: 4 down to 3

We have our Top 3 finalists!  Just a few comments about this week’s leg:

THE GLOBETROTTERS:

  • I just have to say that I can’t believe they would QUIT.  Especially on SUCH an important leg!  Figuring out “FRANZ” was NOT that hard.  Big Easy even got a clue from Dan that it started with an “F,” and he STILL couldn’t get it!  Come on!  A 4-HOUR penalty for not finishing the task?!  Seriously?!  Was that worth it?!  Altho I do have to say that Big Easy SURE did have a hard time with the word scramble.
  • But still…if for some reason they didn’t get eliminated, it wasn’t like they really earned it ’cause they didn’t finish all the tasks!  I’m glad they got booted.  If it wasn’t going to be Sam/Dan, they were the next that needed to go.

SAM/DAN:

  • Wow.  So low.  To work with Big Easy, then get the answer…then to NOT help them.  LOW.  I know it’s a game and all, but…if the tables were turned…As they say, “Do Unto Others…”  but they didn’t!  UGH.
  • I can’t stand Sam/Dan.  When they were arguing while lugging that clay-covered gollum thing…I couldn’t take their voices.  It was so grating.  Especially Dan.  They act like bratty little boys all the time.  It’s irritating.
  • The way this team has played, they better NOT win this whole thing.  They don’t deserve it.  They haven’t played fairly much of the time (e.g. stealing Brian/Ericka’s taxi) and their personalities are just SO annoying.

BRIAN/ERICKA:

  • I have to say that at the beginning of this race, I really didn’t like this team.  Mainly because of Ericka.  Her personality is a bit tough to handle sometimes.  Now tho…I have come to like them.
  • Brian is such a good guy.  Was so funny how he kept saying “hello” for every phone he picked up in the Roadblock.  So “gentlemanly.”
  • Ericka’s attitude to the drunks on the street when they were transporting all that beer was hilarious!  Talk about diva!

MEGAN/CHEYNE:

  • They’re my pick to win.  They’ve been very consistent the whole race.
  • Cheyne’s been irritating me tho…he NEVER steps up to do the last how many roadblocks…?!  Megan’s been doing EVERYTHING!
  • Megan has also been the one to help Cheyne keep his cool during the tasks…he gets frustrated very easily…grumbles a lot…she’s the one to “lecture” him to keep him going.  Guess that’s how they make a good team.

Finale in Las Vegas!  Cool!  They’ve never done a finale (or even a leg for that matter) in Vegas.  I was just there!  Should be fun!  Looking forward to it!  I have 2/3 chances that Sam/Dan won’t win…pretty good odds! ;-)

THE AMAZING RACE 11/1/09

On to Amsterdam…!

  • Brian & Ericka started out on a bad note…Brian couldn’t even get the car in gear!
  • Ericka’s attitude sometimes…ARGH!

ROADBLOCK:

  • I can’t believe Ericka had such a hard time!  Of all the teams tho…it would be HER to struggle.
  • I’m surprised more teams didn’t have to redo their counting.  62 is A LOT of bells!  Plus all that ringing…!  Talk about distracting!
  • 2 hours Ericka took to do the detour…WOW.  Brian was very supportive tho…probably not the best task for Ericka to have to do it by herself…

DETOUR:

  • Gotta say…this was a TOUGH detour.  Both choices were NOT easy!
  • I couldn’t believe how WINDY it was out there on the “golf course”!  Not to mention those golf balls weren’t the heaviest.  Don’t blame them for having a tough time…

MARIA & TIFFANY:

  • Ringing that bell was just not doable for these two…can’t believe they tried over 70 times!
  • What’s probably the most annoying is that both of these tasks weren’t the most physically challenging (altho ringing that bell WAS tough since they don’t have any guys on their team)…so it seems like they SHOULD have been able to complete at least ONE of them!

BRIAN & ERICKA:

  • Once again, a team DOESN’T read their clue carefully…can’t believe they walked/ran in those clogs all the way to the detour!
  • How LUCKY were they that they WEREN’T the only team with difficulty this leg…

THE AMAZING RACE 10/25/09

  • That rowing of the little raft didn’t look THAT easy…
  • When Gary started rowing the OTHER way, I didn’t know if that would work…but it did!  Smart move!

  • I can’t believe that Big Easy took THAT long to figure out the combination to the briefcase…
  • Or should I say I’m amazed that NOONE else had a hard time figuring out that the time on the watch was the combination!

  • Assembling the hookas were not that easy…
  • You really had to pay attention to the samples provided.  One little washer left out, or the wrong color tube on the wrong hooka can make all the difference…

  • What can I say about Mika not going down “The Leap of Faith”?  I’ve NEVER seen someone NOT complete a task because they were too scared to do it.  People have gotten scared where they’ve taken a LONG time to complete it…but they ALWAYS complete it.  Until now.
  • What’s funny is that going down a steep waterslide is not NEARLY as scary/daring as some other challenges they’ve had in previous seasons (umm…can you say bungee jumping?!)…so WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM?!
  • Canaan was getting really frustrated, and I don’t blame him…but if he had been a BIT more supportive instead of physically trying to push her down…she MAY have gone down!
  • When the Globetrotters got to the slide, and Mika was still stalling, I really didn’t like when Big Easy started taunting Mika…that was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.  She was scared enuf as it is.  Would’ve been SO MUCH classier if they just waited patiently (because I’m SURE she wouldn’t have gone down anyway), then got to the “finish line” on their own…WITHOUT the help of the taunting.
  • I wonder if Canaan had gone down first right from the start, I wonder if Mika would’ve ended up going down?

THE AMAZING RACE 10/11/09: 15.4 “9 down to 8″

From Vietnam to Cambodia…

  • I’m surprised most of the teams DIDN’T recognize Jackie O. in the picture!  I guess it was out of context because they were in Vietnam…

  • To be honest, I don’t know if I would’ve realized the mistake Canaan made about asking for their next TASK vs. their next ASSIGNMENT.  Glad he figured it out!
  • Those guys reading the paper really held their ground about that…ignoring Canaan until he fixed his grammatical error.

  • The Roadblock really wasn’t THAT difficult.  The guys teaching the teams didn’t seem TOO particular in how you did the moves…just as long as you did it.
  • I did feel bad for Zev…he got a little flustered, then got panicked when the next team came and finished before him.  But he did finish!

  • Poor Zev & Justin!  To come in FIRST in the leg…only to find out aftewards that they lost one of their passports!
  • I don’t know HOW they expected to find that passport anyway…but they tried!  Pretty cool that they had their taxi driver’s number so they could get back with him to go driving around hunting…
  • What a way to get booted off the show!  Sucks!  Lucky for Maria & Tiffany…they would’ve been out otherwise.  Darnit! :-)

Amazing Race: 10/4/09

The teams stayed in Vietnam this episode:

  • I can’t believe how DUMB Lance & Keri are.  They (Lance) really are MEATHEADS.  First, when they didn’t even know that they WEREN’T in Ho Chi Minh City but had to TRAVEL there.  When they got the little clue from the dragons swimming in the pond…and they didn’t realize they had to OPEN the little bullet.  HELL-O?  How pathetic.  They are our signature “retards” when it comes to the tasks/directions/instructions…Every season there’s a team who DOESN’T pay attention, can’t understand clues, etc.  I guess they’ve never seen this show.
  • MARCI & RON – Don’t pick the word scramble!  That’s gonna take forever!
  • Why would Sam and Dan pick the BIGGEST & TALLEST ceramic animal to cart around?!  HELL-O!  And you wonder why they dropped and cracked their giraffe!  The other team that ended up putting their animal on its SIDE to cart…that just looked weird.
  • The Roadblock didn’t seem too difficult…breaking down the VCRs.
  • MARCY & RON are eliminated; the Detour really did them in.  They took SO LONG trying to figure out the word scramble…Kinda sad when Marcy was explaining about her dad getting shot down in Vietnam…

Not a very exciting leg this week.  Until next week…

The Amazing Race: Season Premiere 9/27/09

  • Wow, the Los Angeles River Basin!  Can you say Grease!?  Pretty cool!

  • I know it’s easy to criticize…but did all the teams seriously think the show would expect them to KNOW what “Shinagawa” in kanji looks like?!  Among 1000+ license plates?!  Come on!  Can’t believe NONE of the teams figured it out until later!
  • Felt bad for the Yoga Instructors…to not even be able to compete in the actual race, really…Sucks!  But someone had to go…I know we don’t really know anyone at this point, but no love lost for that team…

  • JAPAN!  First time they’ve ever gone to Japan this early in the race…!
  • Wasabi rolls!  OMG!  I don’t think I could do that challenge…I can’t even have a smudge of wasabi in my sushi…let alone a HUGE GLOB and ONLY WASABI in a hand roll!  Plus NO WATER or SHOYU!  Crazy!  Probably was the first time eating wasabi for a lot of the teams…They did pretty good overall, considering…

  • I think we all know who the “hated” team is this season…Maria & Tiffany…the professional poker players.  Can’t believe they MADE UP what they do.  And not just made it up…they said they worked for a NON-PROFIT organization?!  Geez…talk about laying it on thick!  Pretty bad.  At least the other teams finally figured out the truth about them…they already lost points with the teams now.

  • I felt bad for the groups of Japanese people when they were being led to the pit stop by the teams.  They weren’t even dressed appropriately to be running around the city by people who DON’T know where they’re going…I would get just as tired as they did!  Not to mention frustrated, considering they all could probably just get there in no time…Cute how Canaan carried that one girl…she was so embarrassed!
  • When the poker girls lost those 2 people, and tried to find them…their team sure was getting tired and annoyed…which I totally don’t blame them for!

  • Roadblock:  That was definitely not the easiest task.  That was A LOT of ducks!  And with only little flags on sticks?!  Could be VERY frustrating.  Pretty cool tho  how in general the ducks did kinda follow suit…

So far I don’t really have a favorite team yet, but some “standouts”:

LIKE:  Mika/Canaan (Nashville songwriter and his girlfriend who sings), Gary/Matt (Dad & Son), Meghan/Cheyne (elementary school sweethearts)

DON’T LIKE:  Maria/Tiffany (for obvious reasons), Lance/Keri (umm…can you say meathead?!),

The Amazing Race Finale 5/10/09

It’s the race for the finish line!  And where are they traveling to…?  MAUI, HAWAII!  Awesome!

  • As expected, all the teams catch up because they have to wait for the ticketing offices to open.
  • It’s HAWAII!  Running thru the Kahului Airport!
  • Funny how the taxi driver told Margie, “That’s illegal maam…I can’t do that!”  First guy I ever heard say that…
  • Carrying that pig…Is pretty tough, especially the way Tammy & Victor are doing it.  Margie & Luke were doing it the best way…

  • Cara is super weak.  OMG.  Jaime:  “I can’t stand you.”  Geez!
  • These taxis…The cheerleaders’ driver…Good for them.

ROADBLOCK:

  • They always do a task where they need to remember the entire race…
  • Geez, Luke…He remembers A LOT.  Darn.  Plus he’s like WAY ahead of the other teams…Until he can’t get the last few…Then he gets frustrated!  As usual…
  • All of a sudden Victor is right on his coattails…And he FINISHES FIRST!  AWESOME!!!
  • Jaime/Cara and Margie/Luke…They worked together after ALL THAT…

TAMMY & VICTOR!!! YAY!  The right people won!  They deserved it!

The Amazing Race: 5/3/09

Still can’t get over the fact that the race wasn’t over at the end of last week’s episode…Good for Jaime & Cara (mostly Jaime)!  They thought they were 1st.  Continuing on in China:

  • Ha!  Jaime got hit in the head w/the taxi door.  Of course it would happen to Jaime (the loud, mean one!)…Bachi!
  • Talk about a shock for Kisha/Jen!  I’m sure Jen’s mentality was…Alright, it was a fun experience while it lasted…Now she has to mentally get back into the game.  They should really take it as a sign of good luck…They would’ve been out otherwise!
  • Ha…Even Margie’s getting annoyed with Luke.  Finally.  I would’ve been HOW long ago.  MOM, MOM! :-p
  • Neat!  Electric cars!  No need to peddle!

DETOUR:

  • WTH?  Placing orders in Chinese?  Talk about MADE for Tammy & Victor…Geez!  Or maybe not.  Not quite as easy as it seemed.
  • Margie was being a bit too much of a micro manager w/the makeup.  I think she’s just mentally tired already.

U-TURN:

  • That was a smart move for Tammy & Victor to use the U-Turn on Jen & Kisha.  Unfortunate for them, but in this case, that was a smart move.

According to Jen & Kisha:

  • Fried Chicken – “Monthly Use Taiwanese Chicken”
  • Vegetarian Noodles – “Good Western Heads Lack Fish”
  • New Taste Beef – “Oil Comes Again To Please The Mouth”
  • Good Luck Fish – “Good Doll Basket Drum”
  • Golden Pork Spare Ribs – “Light Competition Red Dishes I’ve Played Before”

Hilarious!  Not sure if those translations they showed us were real, but they sure were entertaining!  That’s pretty much how all the teams would do tho.  Give them credit tho!

ROADBLOCK:

  • Uh oh…Local chinese food!  I was waiting for something like this…Wow.  That’s A LOT of food.  Not to mention gross.  Starfish…Larva…Scorpion…Grasshopper.  Not bad Victor.  Just chomping away since he hadn’t eaten breakfast! Ha!  :-p  Victor finished pretty fast!
  • Margie, of course, did the task AGAIN.  What exactly does Luke contribute to this team?
  • Jen had a tougher time…But was doing not bad considering they had to do the U-Turn already…Oh, until she chucked it back up.
  • Cara…Good job…She scarfed it down!  Jaime was a bit annoying…Rubbing in how good Cara was at eating it.

The Bird’s Nest (from the Olympics) is the Pit Stop!  Cool!

OMG…Jen!  Did you really have to PEE before they got to the Pit Stop?!  Hurry!  Man, this was a close one…The peeing really made that difference!  That sucks!  I would’ve rather had Jen/Kisha than Jaime/Cara in the finale.  But Jen/Kisha did overcome a lot, and didn’t think they would last that long.

OMG!!!  The season finale next week is in HAWAII!!  Awesome!  And it looks like the entire leg stays here!  So the winner is crowned here in Hawaii?  Couldn’t quite tell if it was right here on Oahu…From what I could tell, looked more like Maui.  IT’LL BE FUN!  CAN’T WAIT!

The Amazing Race: Who should win?

We’re down to the Final 4 on The Amazing Race…There are some suprises as to who’s left…Didn’t think necessarily these 4 would be the last remaining…Who’s your pick to win?

Jaime & Cara

Cara & Jaime

Kisha & Jen

Kisha & Jen

Luke & Margie

Luke & Margie

Tammy & Victor

Tammy & Victor

The Amazing Race: 4/26/09

China still…?  Ooo…Beijing!  Olympic City!

  • Kisha & Jen…Cutting in front of Margie & Luke…Yes, it’s irritating, but come on Luke…DON’T TELL ME you wouldn’t do the SAME THING if you were in their place…
  • Tammy & Victor…Laughing and talking story w/the airline people…A little bit much.  But like they said, if they don’t win this leg…Shame to the Chinese people! :-)
  • Jaime & Cara in the LAST ROW of the plane…How funny is that?!  Hilarious!
  • That foot massage looked SORE!!!  How is it that Tammy was so calm?  I guess she was just really focused and did the breathing.  I also think it was an Asian thing…Asians tend to “hold in their emotions” in more.  I’m glad Luke did it…He needs to suffer a little.

  • That Detour…OMG.  Those are both TOUGH choices!  Sucks for Jen that both had to do with swimming…
  • Victor in that speedo…SKIMPYLAND! Ha! :-)
  • Synchronized diving…Geez…You would think it would be easier than that, honestly.  Tammy & Victor are just not coordinated enough.  BUT, I know it really is a tough task when you’re not trained and don’t have the time to perfect it…

  • Kisha “I don’t think these suits are made for people with these thighs.”  Hilarious!
  • I don’t know if I could swim that far and much…It’s really far!  Even if you’re taking turns…Plus that suit being so tight…As Margie was saying…Can’t breathe with it on!
  • I did feel bad for Jen.  It’s hard if you have a phobia.  You tend to just psych yourself out more as the task goes on.  Kisha was a really great partner tho…She didn’t push Jen too much, and she was really supportive.  To wear the flotation device just to support Jen…That was really sweet and thoughtful.

  • Victor’s leg/foot cramp…OMG guy!  Yes, it’s sore, but…GET IN THE CAB already!  Just get to the pit stop!
  • NICE PHIL!  Jaime & Cara finally made it to the pit stop first…BUT THE RACE ISN’T OVER!  Those girls are full of “bachi” moments because they tend to be so mean to everyone/very impatient.  NICE TWIST!  Lucky for Kisha & Jen…And the race continues…

The Amazing Race: 4/19/09

  • CHINA…Ugh.  My 2nd “favorite” place in the world…
  • Tammy & Victor…Man, it’s like they’re visiting their homeland!  They sure can speak fluently.  It was actually getting a bit much, how MUCH they were speaking chinese.  I mean, it was like they were having conversations and making comments in chinese.  Not just to get around.  Almost like rubbing it in to everyone else that they can speak so well…But I guess, if you can, why not flaunt it?
  • I would’ve had a hard time with that roadblock.  Having to grab a BIRD and pull a live fish out of its mouth!  Gross!  To be honest, when Luke got bit by the bird…It was kinda funny.
  • The whole Luke/Jen things.  Luke was just IRRITATING.  I’m sorry, but I have NO sympathy for him.  YES, Jen did call him a b****, but it was justified.  “To call a deaf person a b****, that was just rude…”  Give me a break!  That comment had NOTHING to do with his impairment…AT ALL.  For someone who seems to NOT want to be categorized as “deaf,” he sure likes to bring it up…
  • And at the pit stop, when Luke HAD to bring it all up again…So childish and a sore loser.  Keisha MAY have smiled/chuckled a bit, but once again…NOTHING to do with Luke’s disability.  She was just chuckling at the whole situation ’cause it’s just so silly.  Margie got SO defensive…She didn’t even want to listen to what they (and Phil, btw) had to say about it.  I-R-R-I-T-A-T-I-N-G.  I’m done with Margie/Luke already.
  • Jamie & Cara…They were kind of separated from the pack in this episode.  Not much to say about them this week except that it was funny watching this small chinese lady pushing/pulling them around when they were teaching them the dance.  Talk about being a bit rough with them…
  • Mike and Mark just couldn’t make up all that time they had to wait…The penalty, then the speed bump.  They didn’t make any mistakes like in previous legs, but it was just too much to overcome.  They were lucky to be able to stick around this long.
