GLEE SEASON 4 NEWS: Graduating, Spin-Off, etc.

Major announcements about Season 4 revealed today (via FOX boss Kevin Reilly):

  • There will NOT be a Glee spin-off.  “We are graduating the characters that are arcing to graduation. There will not be a spinoff.”
  • Lea Michele WILL be back for Season 4!  YAY!  That’s pretty much ALL I needed to know. :) Now I’m good!  I can actually WATCH next season! ;)
  • As for the rest of the characters that are graduating:  “Creatively, we’d want everybody back. I’ve got to look at the contractual situation for all of those. And we will. I don’t want to…get into details. I’m just trying to whet your appetite. But I think it’s going to be a good thing for the show. It’s cool. It’s different.”

Hmm…What do you think Ryan Murphy has in store for the graduating characters?

THIS JUST IN: Jane Lynch to Host Emmy Awards!

It has just been announced that Glee‘s Jane Lynch will be the host of this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards!

I guess since FOX is the network airing the awards show, makes sense they use someone from their network.

Lynch says she’s “tickled pink” to be this year’s host. “I’m looking forward to singing, dancing and sporting my finest tracksuit.”

Emmy nominations will be announced July 14, and the awards will air Sept. 18 on FOX.

Pretty awesome!  Jane is perfect!  Can’t wait!

NEW SHOW: Human Target

Just thought I’d write a quick review about a new show I’ve been tuning into:

This show is supposedly based on a comic book with the same name.  I actually really do enjoy it…it had TONS of action, but it’s also quite witty and funny too  Lots of wisea** cracks, etc.  What’s also good about the show…and not sure if it will continue to be like this…but each episode is kind of self-sustaining.  There’s closure in each episode, so if you miss one episode and just skip to the next, it’s not like you really missed anything vital.

  • What kind of attracted me to the show was the fact that it stars Mark Valley.  I liked him when he was on Boston Legal as couple of years ago and most recently he had a recurring role on Fringe.  His character on BL was very quirky and witty, so he fits right into playing Christopher Chance on this show.  He’s pretty good looking and kind of dashing…playing a bodyguard who gets hired to protect various clients who are in danger for one reason or another.  His true identity stays unknown tho…he goes by MANY alias…his current one being Chance.

  • Chance has two guys helping him out as his “backup” – Winston (played by Chi McBride, most recently Pushing Daisies) and Guerrerro (Jackie Earle Haley).  They both add some comic relief in their comments, etc…but are pretty vital in helping Chance complete his “mission.”  They are both kind of the “watchtower,” with Guerrerro having to go out into the field to find clues and evidence.
  • The MUSIC on this show is pretty funny.  TOTALLY feels/sounds like you’re watching a movie.  Maybe that’s the comic book aspect of it.  It’s actually kinda cool, considering this is television.
  • There’s  BUNCH of action sequences…once again a bit more like a movie than a TV show.  Some huge stunts, explosions, fights.  Good stuff. :-)

Anyway, this show is nothing deep or anything.  You can think 24 except less confusing, less violent and more witty.  It’s just a fun show with both comedy and action that you can watch each week without having to worry about if you miss the next episode. ;-)   Worth checking out.
