Here’s a new promo for the upcoming new NBC series Smash, starring American Idol‘s Katharine McPhee! Man, this show is going to be quite a boost for Kat…Hopefully she’ll be one of the “Rising Stars to Watch” after this!

JORDIN SPARKS ($3 million) The youngest winner in the show’s history, Sparks debuted at age 17 and broke out with “No Air,” a duet with Chris Brown that has sold 4 million digital copies to date – making it the best-selling single ever by any American Idol contestant. Jordin has always done well because of her singles...Great job Jordin! 6. KELLY CLARKSON ($2.5 million) The first-ever American Idol continues to be a household name, though Clarkson’s earnings dipped from last year’s tour-fueled $11.7 million. I’m sure many of you have heard about the new show Smash coming to NBC this fall. Well, they show a preview of it last night during The Voice. One if its stars, Katharine McPhee (American Idol Season 5 runner-up) came on to promote the show.
After watching the preview, I gotta say…I’m QUITE EXCITED about it! It looks really good! Kat looks and sounds AWESOME. Not to mention that Debra Messing (Will & Grace) and Angelica Huston are in the show as well. Megan Hilty (I saw her in Wicked when I saw the show for the first time!) is also one of the main starts, which is so cool…she’s a pretty big Broadway girl. But watching it, I didn’t realize that Kat really is kinda like the STAR of that show! Wow, what a huge opportunity for her! I’m quite interested to see how she does with the whole acting thing. Doing a weekly show like this is HUGE. I mean, she’ll be on EVERY WEEK!
Kinda can’t wait for this show…! Altho people compare it to Glee, to me it doesn’t seem to have THAT MANY similarities to it…other than the singing. This one seems like it will also gear more towards the Broadway side. Definitely more “adult” than Glee in a lot of ways.

Katharine McPhee has FINALLY dyed her hair back to brunette!
According to TV Guide, she did it for the new role she has on the upcoming NBC pilot, The Pink House.
Kat seems OK with the change back – “Blond was pretty hard on my hair,” she told People. I guess my hair is thanking me now!”
For me, doesn’t matter WHY she changed it, but I’m so happy it’s back! I REALLY didn’t like the blonde…the brunette suits her so much better!
Katharine McPhee has been cast in a lead role in a new NBC pilot called “The Pink House.”
McPhee will play Emily, a down-to-earth Midwest girl new to Manhattan Beach who lives in an apartment behind the guy’s house and works as a pharmaceutical rep. Her shape is perfectly normal and healthy but puts Emily in a line-up of way-too-thin cliche California beach bunnies.
No word on when the pilot will air…I’m guessing next season.
Even tho she has a new album, guess Kat’s stil into the acting thing…and she’s still getting roles! Good for her!
KRIS (and SARAH) – What you’ve been waiting for! Katharine McPhee was on The Bonnie Hunt Show today where she was interviewed AND she performed “Terrified” from her CD…! The same song that Didi Benami sang on Idol a few weeks ago…
KRIS – NOW you can compare all the different versions since this is a LIVE version of Kat’s. 
As usual, Kat’s voice is just effortless…so easy for her. These songs she does on her new album really ARE perfect for her…she should’ve done this type of music all along!
Whose version do I like the best? Tough call between Kat & Didi, to be honest…’cause I REALLY LOVED Didi’s performance, even if it was only a snippet of the song. She did an AWESOME job, imo…I could watch her sing it over and over. Maybe if she makes it far enough, she’ll be able to record her own version of the song!

Katharine McPhee will be doing a guest appearance on the NBC comedy Community. She’ll be playing Pierce’s (Chevy Chase) daughter, and a possible love interest for Jeff (Joel McHale).
I’ve watched a few episodes of the show…never quite got into it. But I will check out this one for Kat. Wanna see how she is at doing comedy. Especially being “up against” Chevy Chase and Joel McHale. Not bad company comedy-wise.
The episode will be the first post-Olympics epside. Should be interesting!

People revealed Kat’s new do that she got to coincide with her new album, which is scheduled to be released October 6. She said her new album is “edgy” so her new hair color is definitely edgy…

So I watched the episode…Kat definitely didn’t have much of a speaking part in the movie, but her character sure was vital to the episode. I mean geez, she was the killer! She did a pretty good job with the facial expressions, and for the few lines she had, she executed them pretty well. Good job Kat!
Oh, and BTW…I want that song she was singing in the jazz club! She totally needs to record it! It was such a pretty song. Made me remember exactly why I rooted for her on American Idol…She’s got some voice. So beautiful, smooth and effortless.

Katharine McPhee (runner-up on AI Season 5, and my celebrity sighting) will be making a guest appearance on CSI: NY this Wednesday, April 8. We haven’t seen Kat on a TV show since she made a cameo on Ugly Betty a few seasons ago. I saw a commercial for CSI, and she looks pretty good. Pretty good gig, as the CSI shows are so popular. I don’t normall watch it, but I think I shall check it out…See how her acting really is.

My friend Rena and I were having dinner at The Counter, the new burger place at Kahala Mall. At some point towards the end of our dinner, I just happened to look around the restaurant to see how crowded it was. For some reason, this guy on table right next to us caught my eye…Don’t know if it was his voice (which I could actually kinda hear among all the noise) or the way he was gesturing…Guess who it was?!

DAVE ANNABLE, aka “Justin Walker” on one of my favorite TV shows, Brothers & Sisters! I couldn’t believe it! Looks pretty much exactly the same…just like Justin on the show!
BTW, he’s quite cute in person…:-)
BUT, not only did I see Dave…Shortly after, a woman came back to their table…
KATHARINE MCPHEE (She came in 2nd on American Idol, Season 5)! Her husband was with her (that’s him to the right of her), which made me know for sure that was her.
I was thinking…WHY ARE THEY BOTH HERE IN HAWAII?! Then I remembered that I had just read they’re filiming a movie, You May Not Kiss The Bride, here on Oahu! What are the chances that they would be at the same restaurant as me on a Monday night?! Meant to be!
I didn’t go up to them…Too awkward. But Rena and I actually hung around 15 min longer than we would have so that we could try to take some pics with our cell phones. I know, I know…A bit stalkerish, but…Come on! Gotta try!
