KRISTIN CHENOWETH: Conan Interview 3/27

Kristin was a guest on Conan at the end of March, and here’s just part of her interview.

Kristin talks about her love of chain restaurants (except for one particular Sizzler she went to ;) ), and she & Conan compare their heights…which is just ridiculous. Conan literally is a GIANT compared to Kristin.

Enjoy!

LESSONS LEARNED: Kristin Chenoweth vs Carrie Underwood + *POLL*

Kristin Chenoweth is coming out with a new country-flavored CD entitled Some Lessons Learned.  One of the tracks she recorded was the song “Lessons Learned,” which Carrie Underwood first recorded on her debut album Some Hearts.

Hmm…which version is better?

To me, altho they sound similar, they’re very different.  I feel like Kristin’s version is more “telling a story,” which is probably attributed to her Broadway background.  I feel like she’s really almost “talking to you” and telling you the story through song. Carrie’s on the other hand is much more “popish” and the song moves along faster, but I don’t feel that “telling you a story” feel.  Tough call.

WHICH DO YOU PREFER?

Hmm…Lea Michele got the snub this year!  She didn’t have as much of a part in this second season, but I still think she should’ve gotten a nomination.  But that’s just me. :)

Congrats to all the nominees!  Will definitely be watching come September…

GLEE SNEAK PEEK: 2.19 “Rumors” – “Dreams”

And yet ANOTHER sneek peak of a musical number from tomorrow’s episode.

Kristin Chenoweth’s April Rhodes is back…and she sings a duet of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” with Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison).

Enjoy!

GLEE: MusiCares Tribute To Barbra Streisand – February 11, 2011

A few of the Glee cast members were performers at the 2011 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute to Barbra Streisand tonight in Los Angeles.  Lea Michele, Darren Criss and Matthew Morrison all performed.  Glee guest star Kristin Chenoweth also performed.

Must’ve been a HUGE deal for Lea, since Barbra is like her idol.

Not sure why the glasses on Matthew…guess it was part of a “look” he was trying to give off:

Darren and his signature pink:

Lea performed “My Man,” from

Matthew & Kristin performed “One Less Bell To Answer” (which they also did on

And Darren and The Warblers performed an acapella/beatbox version of “What Kind of Fool”…

GLEE: 19 Emmy Nominations!

CONGRATULATIONS are in order for my favorite show…the Emmy nominations were announced today, and Glee led the pack with a whopping 19 EMMY NOMINATIONS!

Outstanding Comedy Series
Glee • FOX • A Ryan Murphy TV Production in association with 20th Century Fox TV

With 19 nominations including one for best comedy, “Glee” led the comedy pack in Thursday’s nominations. “In no world should this show have worked,” “Glee” creator/producer/writer/director Ryan Murphy said. “There’s never been a musical comedy on that’s worked and Fox got behind us from the start. Our show is about inclusion and all the different voices so the noms for Chris Colfer, Mike O’Malley and Kristin Chenoweth show that people really got that we’re trying to do a show about outsiders.” Looking ahead, Murphy said he’d “get together with everyone when everyone is back in tow and raise a glass” when production on Season 2 begins in two weeks. As for what comes next, Murphy said the second season will be more about “showcasing talent we already have; it’s a more intimate season. I think people expect us to get bigger and brasher, but we’re doing the opposite. We’re working on a Britney Spears episode,” he said. “Heather Morris is such a standout, we want to showcase her this year, and we’re casting Jane Lynch’s mother — the famous Nazi-hunting mom.” Asked if he’d grant fellow nominee Lea Michele’s wish to include her two gay dads in Season 2, Murphy said “we’ll wait until maybe Season 3 on that. I get submitted people all the time, but we have no plans to do that yet.”

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series
Glee • FOX • A Ryan Murphy TV Production in association with 20th Century Fox TV
Matthew Morrison as Will Schuester

Matthew Morrison couldn’t sleep and opted to go for a 10-mile run in New York ahead of the announcement that saw “Glee” score 19 nominations, including his for lead actor in a comedy series. “I want to say this stuff doesn’t matter to me right now, but I can’t wipe the smile off my face.” The show’s success with Emmy voters will “only feed the monster”: “I’m going to get humbled with bad hair jokes,” Morrison said in a nod to fellow nominee and on-screen rival Jane Lynch. “I think the fact that it is in the comedy category is great but it’s so much more than that. It’s a show about the underdog and I’m so happy the underdog is kicking ass right now.” Asked what song he’d opt to sing to commemorate the nominations, it was a no-brainer: the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got a Feeling.” To celebrate, Morrison will spend the day in the studio recording his solo album but hoped to fit in a late dinner with friends

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series
Glee • FOX • A Ryan Murphy TV Production in association with 20th Century Fox TV
Lea Michele as Rachel Berry

Lea Michele was in such shock after learning of her first Emmy nomination — as lead actress in a comedy for “Glee” — that she had to go online to make sure it was actually true. “It’s one of those things where it doesn’t feel real,” she said. “The Golden Globes were so real this year. Losing to Toni Collette was the coolest thing that has happened in my life so I can’t wait for the Emmys.” Saying that Michele was ecstatic about the show’s 19 noms was an understatement, but what really touched the actress were the nominations her co-stars received. “The fact that Matthew (Morrison), Jane (Lynch) and Chris (Colfer) were all nominated — every time I say Chris’ name today I feel like I’m going to cry,” she said, adding that her song to mark the occasion would be Kool and the Gang’s “Celebrate.” While Michele didn’t have any specific plans to honor the nom, she did break her personally imposed ban on listing to “Glee” music. “I caved in and listened to ‘Glee’ on my iPod this morning,” she said, adding that she hopes writer-creator Ryan Murphy allows fans to meet Rachel’s dads in Season 2.

  • I expected Matthew, Lea & Jane to get nominations…all WELL-DESERVED in my opinion.  All three of them had GG nominations…maybe one will WIN this time around?!  Here’s hoping!
  • CHRIS COLFER!  How awesome is that?!  He REALLY IS THAT GOOD.  Besides Matthew, he’s the next best guy.  So talented…especially considering it’s his first real acting gig AND he’s only 20 years old!
  • Mike O’Malley – wow!  He’s been on MANY episodes now…and his storyline with Kurt is just SO emotional and touching.  Congrats!
  • Neil Patrick Harris?  Really?  Was he THAT good?  I didn’t think he was anything special, to be honest.  Other than the fact that NEIL PATRICK HARRIS was on Glee.  Sorry.
  • Kristin Chenoweth…well deserved!  She’s been on a couple of times now…and when she is, they definitely USE HER to their full advantage.  She does make a splash when she’s on.
  • Now you know I’m going to say something since we’re talking guest starts…WHAT ABOUT IDINA?!  I know her part wasn’t nearly as big as Kristin’s but…it WAS important and she had a couple of big numbers with Lea.  Oh well.

In any case…

GLEE KIDS HOORAY!!!
