As you probably could’ve guessed, I’ve been WAITING for this movie to come out ever since I saw the preview for the first time. Why? Yep, you guessed it — Lea Michele is in it! It’s her first big movie role! But not only for her…there are a SLEW of celebrities in this movie! More than I think I’ve ever seen in one movie together! It’s crazy how many are actually in it…even if some of them literally have like one line in the whole movie!

If you saw Valentine’s Day, this movie is VERY SIMILAR. LOTS…and in this movie I should say TONS…of different storylines going on all at the same time. But in this one, all revolving around New Year’s Eve in New York City.
The only two familiar faces from Valentine’s Day are Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Biel…altho weirdly enough they both play totally different characters from the ones they played in VD. Don’t really get why that is. But ok…we’ll just go with it…
The movie is very entertaining. For me, whenever there are a lot of familiar faces, I’m pretty much gonna enjoy it.
There’s so many celebs in it — everyone from Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) to Halle Berry to Zac Efron to Michelle Pfeiffer to Robert DeNiro in this movie. But I loved that.
I don’t want to spoil some of the storyline connections, but let’s just say there were some INTERESTING pairings in this movie. One of the most “mismatched”…at least in my opinion…and I’ve mentioned this numerous time in previous blog posts already…is Lea Michele & Ashton Kutcher.

While Ashton was actually really cute and attractive in Valentine’s Day, can’t really say that about him in this one. He’s all grungy and pretty grumpy for most of the movie. So of all people to pair Lea with…really?! I was pretty disappointed with that match-up. He’s too old for her! Totally would’ve loved her with Zac Efron instead! I mean…how CUTE would that have been?! But oh well.
Lea did a great job, even tho her part is pretty small. AlTHOUGH she did get some MAJOR singing airtime towards the end. Her performance of Auld Lang Syne was one of, if not MY FAVORITE part of the whole movie! It was SUCH a beautiful rendition of the song, and the way they executed it was just PERFECT. Seriously. The song is totally ON REPEAT on my iPod at the moment. LOVED IT.
So if you want a movie that’s just entertaining and kind of gives you a good feeling all around (but not without a few touching/emotional scenes as well), go see this movie! EsPECIALLY if you like seeing a lot of famous celebrities!
Oh, and a tip — STAY for the end credits! You won’t be disappointed! Fun stuff!
Definitely worth seeing…!
