Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara is always HILARIOUS when she visits Ellen….and this was no exception!

Sofia & Ellen, who are both CoverGirl spokeswomen, did a little “demonstration” of some of CoverGirl’s products…with Ellen being Sofia’s “hands.”

One word: HILARIOUS. MUST-WATCH!

Enjoy!

(OTHER) LADIES’ FASHION: Emmy Awards 2011 + *POLL*

Here are just some of my other favorite ladies’ fashion from tonight’s Emmy Awards:

Julie Bowen ("Modern Family")

  • Julie’s so skinny that she can pretty much wear anything, but this dress really suited her.

Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family")

  • Sofia was in the “popular color” group this year…and I love that sweeping across the front!  Fit her so well too!  So pretty!

Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother")

  • The main thing I loved about this dress was the color!  When in the sea of red, this blue was a breath of fresh air!

Zooey Deschanel ("New Girl")

  • I thought Zooey’s dress matched her so well!  The ribbon around her waist…it added JUST A SPLASH of contrast color!  Loved that!

Martha Plimpton ("Raising Hope")

  • We’re so used to seeing her look so “homey” on Raising Hope that it was so awesome to see Martha so GLAM!  Loved that wine color…she looks great!

Kate Winslet ("Mildred Pierce")

  •  Always the epitome of class, and even tho she was ALSO in the #1 color of the night…which couldn’t have almost been redundant somehow, once again Kate hits a homerun in this dress!  Love the style…so simple yet elegant!  Beautiful!

SOFIA VERGARA: Hidden Camera Prank (Ellen Show) VIDEO

I had posted this a while ago, but they just replayed the episode today…and I CRACKED UP all over again…so I HAD to repost/put it back on the forefront.

If you haven’t watched it yet…It’s a MUST-SEE.  Seriously, you will ROFL!  Also will help get you into the mood for the new season of Modern Family, which starts in a couple weeks!

Enjoy!

_______________________________

Like Dennis Quaid, Kristin Chenoweth & Paris Hilton before her, Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara is the next celebrity that Ellen had do a hidden camera prank.

Sofia went into a Warner Bros store on set and she had to say everything Ellen told her to say thru an earpiece.

HILARIOUS. Sofia was awesome.  And her accent just makes it ALL the more funny.

MUST WATCH!

GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS 2011 FASHION: Everyone Else + *POLL*

As far as fashion goes, besides Glee, there were a bunch of other NOTABLE celebrities (in this case, all women):

Olivia Wilde (House)

Julie Bowen

  • Julie is so skinny…she can pretty much wear anything!  Usually I’m not a big fan of the “feathery” look…but this one works!

Sofia Vergara

  • Sofia Vergara + red dress…seems about right doesn’t it? :)

Halle Berry

  • Interesting cut and style…only Halle Berry could make something this “daring” WORK!  Helps that she’s just so FLAWLESS to begin with…

Natalie Portman

  • Such a perfect style to “hide” Natalie’s baby bump!

Amy Adams

  • LOVE the color of Amy’s dress!  And the cut fits her body so well!

Catherine Zeta-Jones

  • Green was one of the popular colors this year at the show…looks great on Catherine!

Carrie Underwood

  • Carrie…so pretty as always! :)   Nice that she got to attend these awards, as she was nominated for Best Original Song (she co-wrote it) for “There’s A Place For Us” from The Chronicles of Narnia! (Unfortunately she didn’t win :( )

Eva Longoria

  • I thought Eva looked great!  That black was so sleek and it really fit her like a glove…and for a tiny girl, she really worked this long dress!

20th Century Fox TV’s “Funny Women” Panel – January 12, 2011

Female stars from Glee (Lea Michele & Jane Lynch), Modern Family (Julie Bowen & Sofia Vergara), How I Met Your Mother (Alyson Hannigan) & Raising Hope (Martha Plimpton)  participated in a panel today:

L to R: Julie Bown, Sofia Vergara, Lea Michele, Jane Lynch, Martha Plimpton & Alyson Hannigan

Some tidbits from the panel:

  • How I Met Your Mother’s Alyson Hannigan starting using comedy to her advantage at a young age. “When I was growing up, I knew if I could make my mom laugh, I wouldn’t get in trouble,” she says. “She was either going to yell or laugh.”

  • Without even a laugh track on Modern Family, Julie Bowen is desperate to get her fix. “I’m wildly insecure and I like an instant laugh, but that’s why I have a therapist,” she says. “She laughs at me for two hours a week.”

  • Classic comedies featured women as being the beautiful foil for the man. “She’s there to make him look like an a–,” Martha Plimpton says. “Are women allowed to be funny? Yeah, we’re not there because they’re allowing us to be there, we’re there because…the world is a funny place and it needs women to be funny in it.” Adds Lea Michele: “The mold is changing. You can be beautiful and be funny.”

  • So says Jane Lynch. The 50-year-old funny lady has taken a few roles from men in her day. “When I first started, I did a lot of roles originally written for men. The role in The 40 Year Old Virgin was written for a man. Sue Sylvester is a man,” she jokes.

  • Sofia Vergara does not mind that a wealth of comedy can be found in her butchering of the English language. “With me, [the writers] have no choice,” she says. “I’m so lucky to have this character so perfectly written for me. I’m never going to be able to have another job like this, so I’m taking advantage of my 15 minutes of time — oh, of fame!”

EMMY STYLE WATCH: Everyone Else + *POLL*

Here’s some other notable celebs and their outfits:

Kelly Osbourne

  • Man, I thought Kelly looked great!  Boy did she lose A LOT of weight!  And the black, of course, is very slimming…

Kate Gosselin

  • First Dancing with the Stars, now the Emmy Awards. I actually really liked Kate’s outfit.  Just like Kelly, very slimming.  Her hair was very appropriate for an awards show.

Julie Benz

  • Talk about gutsy!  Julie Benz (she was on last season’s Desperate Housewives and is starring in the new show No Ordinary Family) wearing THAT dress…that color and how SLEEK it is!  Oh boy…talk about having to wear seamless EVERYTHING!  But she really looks great in it!  You gotta have a great body for a dress like that!

Nina Dobrev

  • I just watched my first episode of The Vampire Diaries the other night.  Nina Dobrev plays the female lead…she’s a very pretty girl.  Anyway, her Emmy dress I thought was quite stunning, even if it’s got a “lot going on.”  That gold/nude color was really pretty, and she’s another skinny one…so everything looks great on her.

Connie Britton

  • The thing I most liked about Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton’s dress is how SIMPLE yet elegant it was.  Probably the most “daring” thing about it was the color.  I thought she looked great.

Sofia Vergara

  • I don’t know if I’m the biggest fan of Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara’s dress.  But she does look great in it.  She really knows how to WEAR a dress.

Julie Bowen

  • I think I’ve mentioned before how much of a fan I am of Modern Family’s Julie Bowen.  I’m NOT much of a fan of this dress however.  Kind of a weird ruffling thing going on in the front.  But once again, the “color of the night” – midnight blue (altho it looks almost black here).

VIDEO: Sofia Vergara – Mariska Hargitay?

Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara (along with Community‘s Joel McHale) announced the Primetime Emmy Awards this week.  We all know that English ISN’T Sofia’s first language, so it was interesting to see Sofia have to pronounce a lot of these names…

When announcing the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category, Sofia had to pronounce “Mariska Hargitay.”  Now, even for us “English as a FIRST language” people, Mariska Hargitay is a TOUGH ONE.  I was QUITE interested to see how Sofia tackled that one…

HILARIOUS…Check it out (JUMP TO 4:40 of the video):

EMMY NOMINATIONS: Other Notables

Just wanted to recognize/react to some of the other notable Emmy nominations:

Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series

Lost • ABC • Grass Skirts Productions, LLC in association with ABC Network and Studios
Matthew Fox as Jack Shephard

  • You know how I feel about Matthew Fox…but I guess it’s LOST’s last season…last chance.  Eh.

Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series

Modern Family • ABC • Twentieth Century Fox Television
Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell

Modern Family • ABC • Twentieth Century Fox Television
Eric Stonestreet as Cameron Tucker

Modern Family • ABC • Twentieth Century Fox Television
Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy

“In classic Phil Dunphy fashion, I was fast asleep when the nominations were announced and am deeply saddened to have missed Sofia’s pronunciation of Mariska Hargitay,” “Modern Family’s” Ty Burrell, a first-time nominee for supporting actor in a comedy series, said in a statement. “All kidding aside, I’m so proud of the fact that ‘Modern Family’ was recognized in so so many categories, from Chris Lloyd and Steve Levitan, to Jason Winer, our unbelievable crew and my fellow yahoos in the cast — the Television Academy so graciously shared the love with our entire modern family. I am starting the campaign today: Ed O’Neill 2011!!”

  • Wow!  All 3 of them got nominated!  Awesome!  They are all well-deserved for sure.  Ty & Eric in particular are QUITE good, I must say.
  • But they’re up against Chris Colfer, who is QUITE BRILLIANT, so it’s a tough call. :)

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series

Modern Family • ABC • Twentieth Century Fox Television
Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy

Modern Family • ABC • Twentieth Century Fox Television
Sofia Vergara as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett

  • Nice for MF to get so many nominations as well!  Just too bad they have to compete with Glee!

Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series

The Good Wife • CBS • CBS Productions
Archie Panjabi as Kalinda Sharma

  • I’ve mentioned in numerous posts how much I love Archie on The Good Wife.  She really does make that show for me.  Glad she’s getting recognized for it!

Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series

24 • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM • FOX • Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox TV in association w/ Teakwood Lane Productions
Gregory Itzin as President Charles Logan

  • All I can say is…THANK YOU.  Gregory Itzin is just AWESOME as Charles Logan…SO IRRITATING.  The show was SO SMART to bring him back for this final season.  He was just…PERFECTION.  All I gotta say.  Even if he doesn’t win, at least he’s getting recognized for it.

Outstanding Guest Actress In A Comedy Series

Saturday Night Live • Host: Betty White • NBC • SNL Studios in association with NBC Studios and Broadway Video
Betty White as Host

  • How could they NOT nominate Betty for SNL?!  After all, she gave SNL their HIGHEST RATINGS ever…in a long time. She’s doing SOMETHING right.

Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series

Lost • The End • ABC • Grass Skirts Productions, LLC in association with ABC Network and Studios
Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet Burke

  • Once again…THANK YOU.  I was devastated after they KILLED Juliet off at the beginning of the season.  So I was WAITING for them to bring her back before the show ended for good…and THEY DID!  Such a touching “comeback”…her moments with Sawyer.  LOVED IT!  And you all know I just love Elizabeth Mitchell, so…glad she got recognition as well!

MODERN FAMILY in Hawaii!

And yet more celebrities flock to the islands for location shoots…!  The cast of Modern Family is here in Hawaii this week taping for their show…I think maybe their season finale is going to be in Hawaii.  Unfortunately, they’re on MAUI and not Oahu. :-(

The cast has been tweeting some pics now that they’re here:

Gloria and Jay chiiiiillll (@SofiaVergara)

Hawaii!!!! Delicious (@SofiaVergara)

Giiirls (@SofiaVergara)

Uuuuuu (@SofiaVergara)

Can’t really tell where they are on Maui…looks like a hotel tho.  Still pretty cool!

GOLDEN GLOBES Red Carpet: Fashion Galore! *UPDATED

Just thought I’d post some other notable and outstanding (in both the good and bad) fashion statements on the red carpet:

Mariah Carey

  • Mariah’s dress:  Umm, can you say SUBTLE?!

Jennifer Garner

  • LOVED Jennifer’s dress!  Considering she has TWO kids…her body looks amazing!  That dress DOES look a bit HEAVY tho…

Sandra Bullock

  • Purple seemed to be a hot color this year…there were a number of ladies wearing some shade of purple.  I really liked Sandra’s dress!  Very vibrant!
  • I did think it was unique how the skirt was sorta sheer…like you can totally see thru to her legs!  Interesting…

Fergie

  • Staying with the whole purple theme…I really liked Fergie’s dress!  Altho I’m still not a big fan of Fergie…I really don’t think she’s attractive at all…her body looks SO GOOD in it!  I liked the lavender color!

Emily Blunt ("The Devil Wears Prada") & John Krasinski ("The Office", "It's Complicated")

  • I liked the color of Emily’s dress!  Very cute and sweet!  Oh, and John looks nice & dapper too!  They make a cute couple!

Julie Bown ("Modern Family")

  • Can’t go wrong with black!  Even tho she only recently had twin boys, Julie Bowen is so pretty that you wouldn’t even notice!

Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family")

  • Sofia’s dress was a very unique color!  She’s another one that’s so pretty that she can pretty much pull off anything!  I like that little splash of magenta!

Anna Kendrick ("Twilight", "Up In The Air")

  • Even tho it’s a bit frilly at the top, I really liked Anna’s dress!  It fits her body so well, and I like the pattern on the dress…and the train!  Very elegant actually.  Only at an awards show can you wear a dress like this…it’s so sparkly!

*UPDATED

*I like HAD to update with more dresses…they were too nice to pass-up!  These next few I didn’t put in earlier because they weren’t featured on the red carpet, so I only saw them on the actual show!  They’re worth adding tho… ;-)

Halle Berry

  • Halle Berry…HELLO!  Man, she’s just gorgeous!  Even after having a baby!  And no one else can pull of that short ‘do like Halle!  Awesome!

Jennifer Aniston

  • Wow, look at that slit!  Talk about HIGH!  But Jennifer can totally pull it off!  I like her hair (when it’s not in her face) and makeup a lot too!  Very natural!

Kate Winslet

  • Kate Winslet…I just love her style!  She really knows how to pick dresses for her body!  So elegant and regal!  Like the one-shoulder look too!  SO PRETTY!

The other one I really WANTED to add because she looked so cute was Reese Witherspoon…but I can’t seem to find pictures of her from the show online!  So weird!  If you watched the show tho…she looked great!

Sorry if you already voted…but I upated the poll!  So vote again!
